My my my...Soviet/Russian influence has certainly died if somebody from Slovakia (Warsaw Pact) now considers themselves Western (oops!). Soviet influence had of course kept her country backwards.
Nice read script. Trashing Samsung CPUs..hmm..
Her talking about growing up in Socialist Slovakia compared to China
Czech, Slovakia and other East European countries are significantly poorer than the US on per capita GDP basis, but you cannot say they are "backward"? In what sense?
Thank to communist regimes in the past, they are far more civilized than the US, from education, health care, civic sense, public transportation, crime rate, racism, homeless, poorly-fed people, hygiene, etc. In addition, they do not yet to buy into the so-called "multi-cultural" societies from the West.
Even the poorest Soviet bloc countries like Moldova or Uzbekistan seems to be more civilized, sustainable societies than the US. Wealthy does not equal to "civilized". Tajikistan or Kyrgyzstan are not more backward compared to Qatar or Brunei, although the latter are 50 - 100 times richer (they should thank the Soviet Union for that).
Do not say your rationals again and again that "why people still want to go to the US, not those civilized countries". The answer is simple "Since the US is rich, but not a civilized country, people want to go there because there will be more chances".
In Vietnam, northern people still want to go to the south, not vice versa (although the north is more civilized and developed) because of the same reason. Chinese people still want to go to South East Asia and not vice versa.
