Here several facts about this incident:
1) American gov told Israel, that there will not be US ships in the area. But then they sent Liberty wthout notice.
2) Both Israeli planes and torpedo boats which attacked ship were marked. Very strange for conspiracy.
3) Pilots were leading open conversation in Hebrew on radio. Its obvious that if they were deliberatelly attacking US ship they would keep radio silence.
4) Israeli planes were armed with automatic cannons, small caliber rockets and napalm canisters. This weapon is effective for ground attack missions, but not effective against ship. Had Israeli planes have high explosive bombs, the ship would sink in minutes. Obviously planes were rushed from other mission. That proves there was not planning.
5) No one could came with any reasonable motive for Israel to attack the US ship.
6) Friendly fire accidents are very common during the war. I dolt examples how US shot down dozens of own transport planes during invasion of Sicily, in 1943 US submarine sunked two Soviet transports: Kola and Ilmen (115 people died), in 1971 Turks sunked own destroyer, during war of Iraq US destroyed 17 own IFV (out of 20 total destroyed), shot down own helicopters, British planes, in last operatrin in Gaza Israel killed 4 of its own soldiers.
