How could the AC defend against the Iranian quasi ballistic missile called Persian gulf?
also what defence does it have against lets say against torpedo? like the Iranian hoot.

There is as much weapon, and electronic warfare defence that goes on underwater as above water. These defenses are more tightly held secrets (capability wise) then you see with other systems. the best defense though is to detect and kill the sub before it can get in range. This has been a challange especially with Diesel/electric submarines. For awhile the U.S. ignored this threat. in recent years though we have been leasing from allies these subs and testing them to develop better detection methods.

SM-2 BLOCK IVa can, Aegis though will determine the threat and what weapon to use. SM-2, SM-3, ESSM. Also SM-3 can hit targets in the terminal phase.

IMO is it was possible to make a new electromagnetic ware with higher frequently than gamma rays, and you could use that as a weapon to kill missile. it would do it at the speed of light.

Sea skimming cruise missiles can be detected from over the horizon. And Missiles such as the SM6 which are now deployed can hit them over horizon. Currently only the U.S. and Australia have the SM6.
