The use of the name 'Gangu' on PDF.

Ukrainians and Russians are the same race and look like one another. Pakistanis and indians are neither.

There was some i**ot screaming about Black Lives Matter, and about racism.Wonder what he would say about this recurring display of naked racism.

gangu is an acronym for the river ganges. The birthplace of the indian race and civilisation. The term should be unbanned.





With the amount or anti-Muslim, anti-Pakistani racism spewed by indians, it's only fair we should do the same to those who are the enemies of the Pakistani race and nation.

Being racially non-indian doesn't make you an Arab. It's like saying whites and blacks are Arabs as they are non-indians........

And here we go again.

There is no singular monolthic Indian race or Indian civilization. For example, Orissa in the Eastern zone, the south or take western India for example. The culture, language, society..so grossly different than each other and none part of the Ganges or any of its tributaries. Calling Indian civilization as Ganges centric is nothing but a narrow generalization.

There are, in fact, nine river valleys that form Indian civilisation, not one. This is a singularly myopic view of Indian history, one that knows only about the Sultanate of Delhi and the Mughal Empire.

Simple Gangu does not work for me. I am a Panchgangu.

Gangu Baba

Ganga Baba, or Gangu Baba was a local hero of Indian Rebellion of 1857 who belonged to the Dalit community living around Bithoor village of Uttar Pradesh. He was a kind brave man. Although he belonged to low castecommunity, he commanded respect among all people of the area because of his extraordinary abilities and kind nature. There are many stories about the good deeds of Gangu Baba. Once Gangu killed a tiger without an arm. While he was returning from forest with dead tiger on his back. Nana Saheb Peshwa the king of Bithoor passed with his army from that place, he saw Gangu Baba with a tiger on his back. He was impressed and asked Gangu Baba to join his army as he had initiated a battle against Britishers at that time. Gangu Baba accepted and he alone killed 150 British soldiers with his sword; this annoyed the Britishers who announced to arrest him alive. They arrested him; the British soldiers dragged his body up to Kanpur. They hanged him in Chunniganj; this story is part of an oral tradition of the Bithoor area.

It appears that the term Gangu has been banned on PDF. I have opened this thread that it should un-banned. Before I go further the term is derived from -

• River Ganga is cradle of Indian population and history
• River Ganga is central to Hinduism and is regarded as holy with Varanasi etc
• Hinduism is majority faith of India
• thus it is a portmanteau of Ganga and Hindu

Therefore far from being abusive it is enamouring as it merely referances the pivot of Indian population and history - the Ganga River Valley contrasted of course with the Indus River Valley for Pakistan. It is analogous to Pak and Gangu.

Therefore I appeal to the admin that this being a Pakistan forum that this term is unbanned. I ask all PDF members, particularly Pakistani's of all bckgrounds to support me with this. I have included a poll where you can show your support. A quick post here validating my position woiuld also be appreciated. Many, many thanks in advance.

If it makes the Pakistanis happy and gives them the necessary tools to vent their frustration towards India and Indians on PDF, by all means, I think Gangu should be added as an official term for Indians.

Also, I believe it allows for our PDF Pakistanis with their identity crisis, so why not!

Not angry at all dear, in fact have good friends that happen to be indian, but that doesn't change the fact that india has nothing to do with us.

I've always said it. Anyone using the term Gangu should not be ashamed if he is called "Indurani" - a drama queen of the Indus deserves no less.

In that case not "Indu" but "Sindhu" would be the correct term. The river is called "Sindh"...
..."Indus" I believe is of Greek origin...they called "Sindh" as "Indus"
--> it is from this morphed word that refers to "Sindh", where the term "India" comes from.

Another variation of the terms "Sindh" and "Sindhu" is "Hind" and "Hindu"...respectively
This is also of foreign origin...I think proto-Iranian.
--> from these terms...the term "Hinduism" emerged. "Hinduism" is not a religion...a bunch of different belief systems were bunched together under this umbrella term.

So if u want...feel free to call Pakistanis "Sindhus" if u wish...we don't take offense...and while u r at it...do stop referring to ur country as "India", "Hind", or "Hindustan".

Pakistanis are descendants of Muhammad bin Qasim. They have nothing to do with Indus Valley Civilization.
