The U.S. refused to supply Pakistan with the 6.6 ton AH-1W model

A 'gift' ? Really ?
Yupp, the last batch of Ah1's were given to pakistn free of cost, from excess Defence article program.

yes thumbs down to such stupid thinking.
some smart *** might also suggest that Pakistan is also asking for fuel, ammo and the salary of the crew as well.
giving a second thought to such comments is pointless

Irfan saab, I still think Pakistan deserves these aircrafts from EDA as the last time, ground reality is Pakistan is on the offensive against the militants, and WoT funds should have subsidized the the sale of AH1's for pakistan. It would have costed pakistan less as it already operates the aircraft and given Paf much needed tools for the missions it is carrying out.

Afghanistan and FATA are old story for America, they got bigger fish to fry in the middle east. their Syrian experiment has mutated into an abomination that has world level aspirations and has the men and material to put that into action.

what we are doing in tribal areas is now our fight. we wont just have to deal with TTP within Pakistan but also the cross border attacks from Afghanistan both from the hosts and their guests we wont be getting any support or assistance for that nor we should expect anything.

AH1s go to the Army Aviation, not PAF.

Well there you have it folks no more further Cobra's for us in the future , sad but reality I really think when funds are their PA needs to get with Turkey and take their offer for now the Russian gunships shall do the job backed up by our cobra's so lets see what the future holds if the cards are played correctly.

@orangzaib - Pakistan's economy is gradually recovering. When funds become available, there are a number of options to replace the cobras as mentioned above. T-129(B) has been offered by TAI under a ToT agreement, which remains a highly attractive prospect. Green flag in this matter is the construction of a heli production factory at PAC. If we hear anything about progress being made on that front, it would confirm that a heli deal is in works.
so can anybody here tell about the developments regarding that P.a.C.'s heli.factory ?

The U.S. has turned down Pakistani requests for any of these AH-1 models in an effort to persuade Pakistan to be more cooperative in dealing with Islamic terrorism. The Pakistanis repeatedly refuse and have pretty much given up on getting more AH-1s from the United States. Meanwhile Pakistan is seeking other helicopter gunships from China (WZ-10), Turkey (T-129) and Russia (Mi-35) as well as heavily armed commercial helicopters equipped with electronics similar to those used on gunships. None of these other options has worked out, not yet anyway. Part of the problem is that Pakistan has little cash to spend on new or used helicopter gunships and is hoping for a gift, or big discount from someone. There’s not a lot of that around for Pakistan, which provides sanctuary to Islamic terrorists who are hostile to all the nations that could provide new helicopters.

Interesting. It's a shame though because the new AH-1 models are much better than the older ones. I believe that both the Chinese Z-10 and the Turkish T129 would be really good and easily replace the older and the destroyed AH-1s perfectly. The Mi-35 is honestly an amazing helicopter, one of its kind. So if Pakistan moves on with any of these three deals it'd cover its needs and complement its helicopters fleet nicely.

i dont believe in this article ...
if US wants to move their equipment from Afghanistan, pakistan will ask for something in return ...

The way it's written, it sounds more like an opinion piece than an article written by a professional journalist or analyst.

The answer for 'refusal' from US is in the article.

If US Marines have re-manufactured their AH-1Ws, it means no new platforms are being built. That could be reason for refusal as US might not have surplus to sell.

If Egypt can get Apaches, why cant we? We have been fighting this war alongside US for quite long. There have been differences but then Pakistan has legitimate concerns beyond this simplified and expedient narrative of us giving terrorist a sanctuary.

The Indian factor...that is why we can not easily acquire platforms like Apache...especially on discount.
