According to many internet bloggers, geo-politics specialists, the true reasons, except for marketing and showcasing the Rafale to India and Brazil, behind the French military aggression in Mali are the following:
-Uranium deposit which the French nuclear company Areva is eying to take for itself without disbursing one cent to the Malians and to the native population. So its better not to let these gigantic uranium deposit to be in the hand of Touaregs Independentists-called Salafist terrorists by the French-who are fighting the Malian government for independence. Otherwise France and Areva had to negotiate and to pay the Touaregs independentists.
-Mali hold mineral and other natural resources in its soil, so France is intervening to have a hand on these natural mineral resouces in view of preventing emerging nations to compete to exploit these resources. This military aggression will premit France to control and exploit these resources without giving a cent to Mali and without having to compete in tender and bids with other emerging nations to exploit these resources thereby saving billions of Euros. Good for a debt ridden France which is plunging in deep recession and record unemployment.
-To prevent a non pro-Western or non pro-France Government to be installed in Mali
It is naif to believe that France is intervening militarily to protect civilians, to protect French civilians installed in Mali perhaps, but surely not the Malians, otherwise why France don't intervene in Syria to protect civilians? This military aggression is costing millions of Euros for a bankrupt France, so who is going to pay? Certainly not the French taxpayers who are all indebted while the rich French are quitting the country fearing the 75% tax proposal to be imposed on the richer. It is Mali which is going to pay by handing over all its uranium deposit and mineral resources to France and French companies. The same neo-colonialism strategy had been applied in Libya whereby France hasd been so quick to intervene again to take control of the Libyan oil. Now Libya is giving France, UK and the US the management and control of all its oil resources by excluding all Chinese, Russian and Indian companies. This is the reality.
