to be fair, in the almost seven decades of the indian republic, neither most farmers have known how to do scientific farming nor have successive national governments known how to do it... all there has been was the vacuous and jingoistic slogan "jai jawan, jai kisan", which in reality meant keep a huge military in continuous supply while the farmers were suiciding because of poverty or didn't learn proper farming.
the solution is "urban farming" - do agriculture in cities... replace all villages with cities, replace all capitalist city buildings with "vertical farms" and open "urban farms"... beginnings of real development in india.
