I think you mean the 'Jeddah Tower' (formerly known as the 'Kingdom Tower') which will be 1000 meters tall.
Construction of this tower is still in progress.
Estimated completion is in 2020.

Tower of Babel ?

There has not been any archeological evidence that the Tower of Babel existed.
However some scholars say that it might have been a structure in Babylon called 'Etemenanki'.
This structure was dedicated to a Mesopotamian god.
Etemenanki was about 91 meters tall.
The city of Babylon existed between 18th to 6th centuries B.C.
This would historically place Etemenanki between the

• Great Pyramid of Giza, modern-day Giza, Egypt (481 feet, 146.6 meters): 2570 B.C.E. – 1221 C.E.

and

• Old St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, England (489 feet, 149 meters): 1221 – 1311 C.E.

if Etemenanki was taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza. But the pyramid was taller than Etemenanki and that is why it is not listed or displayed in the graphics.

basically bcz of man power but europe did due to technical advancement and cheap colonial resources. even today if you have army of slaves you can build tall structure.

I wish instead of TV towers, we had buildings listed as there are quite a few between Empire state building till Burj Khalifa, would have been an interesting read.

And that 300-200 years that the Euros enjoyed is slowly fading away

That list is wrong... the Ulmer Münster is taller than the Cologne Cathedral...till today it is the tallest church in the world with 161.3m it was planed to be 20m taller but the small city of Ulm had founding problmes so they finished at the 161.3m mark
