The second coming of Saladin

Saladin was a great leader and his qualities as a human were amazing to, he once healed Richard the Lion Hart when he fell sick he disguised himself as a Arab physician.

The reason he could retake Jerusalem was because he prepared himself so that he could challenge his enemies. He made every effort to make his army more technological advanced, most of the time he liked peace rather than war, in his rein he created a monument one of the wonders of the world it was a spiral building.

Saladin, was one of the few kings of Arabia who thought for the people rather them self, there were a handful of kings in Arabia who created universities in fact the first University was in Egypt. After these leaders died the people who took there place only came to ruin there great work they were autocratic and this lead to the Mongols that one day over took Arabia, after that Arabia broke more, now Arabia is in pieces and easy to attack it is no longer unified. I belief the first thing the Muslims need to learn is unification and calling a brother a brother, like at the moment in Arabia one country hates Israel the other says we love them.

He send a physician, he didnt go himself, another instance when richard fell off the horse during a battle; he sent another one, cuz he believed a king should never fight on foot, and he had a great deal of respect for Richard.

Why hate Israel, they are there and they are not going go away. Why hate them, just live alongside. Muslims have conquered so many lands, and converted those lands into their own and changed their culture. I could say that about pakistan, cuz 100's of years ago it was Hindu. But such is life, things change, people change, culture's change, after sometime there might be no hinduism, islam or christainity, there might be something else. I say Egypt did the right thing in having peace with israel, palestanians are compelete idiots, look at them killing each other;

sorry for going offtopic, lets back to saladdin

thats what i mean man...........we need to organise ourselves, get our priorities straight................we need to divert our energy towards progress, rather then fighting among ourselves and fighting the whole world too ...............this is one war that we cant win by the ususal methods i.e. kill or be killed.
education for the masses is the key..........true understanding of islam is also essential.............polticizing islam will not get us anywhere.............we need to fit ourselves with the greatest weapon of them all, i.e., education.

Life i think is like the market, You have boom, stablization, recession and crash, and then boom again. It is a cycle, In my opinion most Muslims have changed from the days of saladdin, and christains have changed from the days crusaders. One for the worst while the other for the better. I have read about how muslims had a better sense of humanity in olden times than mass-murdering crusaders. But sadly now a days, i cant say the same anymore.

Just 2 cents from a person who is complelty against organized religion.

@ Adux
good point bro...........am impressed...........(damn, must be the weed talking)

and we need to rectify that.............and for that to happen, each and everyone of us muslims has to play his part in the greater scheme of things.............that is why i said that each of us has to become a Salah-ud-din in our own respective fields.

No one pointed sword to their face, they did it one their own.

my friends used to say weed stimulate's the brain into thinking beyond its capacity, thats why they got better grades..lol

The biggest success of salah-ud-din is because he DiDNT play god's role or as his messanger nor did he thrust what god said in quran, but he simply put DID his job. His job was to fight to the best of his abilities, and he did just that. he never mixed religion with politics, he was very aware of the two... though the war was about religion, he had the capacity to see the humanity and politics in it.

jews have their own justifications and they have ties with the land too. It is just a matter of priority and that depends on prespective.

Yes so the solution is co-existance. When Jerusalem was under the Muslim/Arab control, it was an open city. With Israel claiming it to be the Capitol of Israel, it becomes problematic for not only the Muslims but also the Christians.

Jews living in Israel (formerly Arab territories) is a fact of life now. Arabs and Muslims have to get used to it, however Israel must renounce its expansionist policies and clearly define what Israel territorially really is? You cannot go on adding land by putting settlements down and uprooting Palestinians.

Dear Blain,

I don't think Jerusalem is the capitol of Israel but Tel Aviv. I agree with you that Jerusalem is a world monument for Jews, Christians and Muslims and some smaller sects. It should be converted on the lines of vatican city but all religions should be free to pray there.

Regards

No Adu, he once sent himself to Richard when he fell in ill health that is in the history books.

Ok i dont want to sound like the sectarian bastard here but this article hellishly anti-Sunni. also why does this dude invoke pakistan from time to time. Also why cant the next salahudin come from Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey and Bangladesh. All of these three countries are relatively democratic. Why is it that only Arabs have to lead the Muslim world when they only make 13% of the population. Why cant this guy be from africa. This is what is our problem we cant differentiate between Arab culture and true and pure Islam. I also completely agree with wounded healer that we must stop looking for help from others and start helping each other now.
This is not only the need of the our but the need for the future of the ummah if there is such a thing.

Israel should renounce, as peer Hamas Israel doesnt exist at all. So i feel Hamas should first recognise Israel as a state and then talk to them.

you have very little knowledge about salah-ud-din,he fight for islam, not for his own rule. when he take the control of al-qudas.most of hard line muslims want revange from christains which crusaders did 90 years before with muslims, but salah-ud-din stop them and told them this act is not alowed in Qu,ran and sunnah,he know very well in islam religion and politics never be separate
