The reason India is being targetted by the west (Rape)

He is a Bengali. What more, to our eternal shame, he works for Indian foreign office and is representing India in Zimbabwe. For the longest time I wondered who gives India such a bad name. You have scum like him to thank for. They fill up the diplomatic corps and foreign services looking down their brown noses on the rest of Indians as if bearing a burden civilizing us.

Mallu Christian alert!!!!

Yup, it is Indian civilization that is beautiful and that is being digested by the West, whether it be yoga or curry or saris or bindis or even the wedding rituals. Indians still cling on to their civilization and value it. It is the West that is copying India while at the same time trying to tear it down.

Paksitanis are singled out on terrorism issues having raised and propagated jihadi forces. Are you saying that Indian moms and schools and govt raise Indians to rape women? I cannot help it if your mouth functions as your rear and poop out abuses for your wife day in and day out. You are reality are as far apart as antipodes. Neither you know India nor are you qualified to talk about it.

The west may go crazy over yoga and curry but trust me when I tell you that our so called culture leaves a lot to be desired whether by the west or anybody else. Nobody is dissing the good of Indian civilization. It is the current culture and attitude of Indians and their denialist mentality as demonstrated so clearly by you which is the focus of attention. Stop posting stupid research showing the number of rapes per capita in western countries vis a vis India. That is purely making Indians look stupid. It is the attitude of Indian males which is the focus of attention here and India is starting to draw attention for that on the tourist front. Its no wonder that the mindset isn't changing when there are so many Indians such as yourself out there...the ostriches.

Read my first post on this thread regarding Indian culture in respect of sons and you will understand why I am in effect making the statement which you attempted to condense, namely that Indian moms with their attitudes towards sons are inadvertently raising a nation of male stalkers and potential rapists. As with BBC., don't attack the messenger when reality is being pointed out to you

Indian women pilots soar past global average

Indigo-Airlines-I.jpg

According to DGCA, almost 600 of the 5,050 pilots in Indian airlines are women.
NEW DELHI: Ground realities may be harsh for women in India, but they're still determined to conquer the skies.

Almost 600 of the 5,050 pilots in Indian airlines are women, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). At 11.6%, this is way above the 3% global average estimated by the International Society of Women Airline Pilots.

India is also seeing a steady rise in women pilots annually. The last five years saw 4,267 commercial pilots' licences being issued, of which 628 or 14.7% went to women.

One of the reasons why women pilots fare better in India than in other countries is the strong family support system they have here. "Women who go on overseas flights have to spend days away from home. In India, women have their mothers or mothers-in-law to take care of the kids and that ensures they can go on long flights too," says a woman pilot.

A direct outcome of this trend is that Indian carriers are employing more women pilots. The Jet Group, for instance, had 152 women pilots in October 2011; today it has 194 ? the highest in India. "There has been steady growth of about 10% year on year in the number of women pilots joining the airline," says a Jet official referring to Jet Airways and JetLite. The official adds that 30.5% of their 13,674 employees are women.

At IndiGo, 11% of pilots are women. "That number is definitely growing. Of the pilots that joined from April 2014, 16.5% are women," says an IndiGo official.

Overall, 43% of the airline's 8,200-strong workforce is women. SpiceJet and GoAir also reported that the number of women pilots is on the rise. The merged Air India-Indian Airlines has the second largest number of women pilots at 171, and often has an all-women crew operating its longest non-stop flights to the US.

A company source says they fall short of the highest number because they haven't hired new pilots in a while.

45253922.cms

DGCA data shows that even the crisis years of Indian aviation ? 2010 to present ? a higher percentage of women opted to train for commercial pilot licences. The number of licences issued in 2010 was 1,292 which fell to 858, 691 and 643 over the next three years. Even so, the percentage of women acquiring the licences from 2010 to 2013 went up from 14.8% to 16.4%.

Harpreet AD Singh, the first woman pilot to be selected by erstwhile Air India in 1988, says airlines saw a surge in women applying to fly in the mid-1980s and 2005 onwards, when private low-cost airlines took off.

"The erstwhile Indian Airlines was the first here to hire women pilots in the early 1980s. Captain Sadamani Deshmukh became the first woman commander then (of a Fokker Friendship) and this became a big thing that time," says Singh. "Then in 1988, I was chosen by erstwhile AI as the first woman pilot."

Singh, who is now an executive director with AI and president of Indian Women Pilot Association, claims that while the global average of woman pilots has always been 2-3%, India has been at over 10%. "We hope for a time when we no longer have to celebrate an all-women crew ? engineer, cabin crew and pilots ? on board. It should be a common occurrence," says an IndiGo official.

Oh look at all those raped women with their intestines hanging outside.

Over 90% Indian women feel safe travelling in India: Survey | Latest News & Updates at Daily News & Analysis

We have been tracking a fair rise in this segment in the last four years, but the big spurt up to 10 per cent, will be witnessed in 2015, for the first time. This jump will significantly alter the tourism in India," HolidayIQ Founder and CEO Hari Nair said.

Even as the incidents of crime against women are on the rise in India, around 94% young Indian women feel safe to travel in the country, a recent survey showed.

"Around 94 per cent of young women in the age group of 18-24 in India feel that travelling in India is safe," according to a survey by HolidayIQ.

HolidayIQ conducted the survey among 20,000 women across the country.

"This year is the seminal year for solo women travellers. We have been tracking a fair rise in this segment in the last four years, but the big spurt up to 10 per cent, will be witnessed in 2015, for the first time. This jump will significantly alter the tourism in India," HolidayIQ Founder and CEO Hari Nair said.

He said women travelling solo will boost the domestic tourism industry just as couple travellers did in the last decade through the concept of weekend getaways and jungle lodges across.

"Meanwhile, the tourism industry must note, when women plan a holiday, they spend 15 per cent more than men. Not wanting travel to be an extension of the family, independence and the exposure that comes with it, has led to the rise of the solo woman traveller," he added.

When it comes to location, 92 per cent respondents said Mumbai is the safest among all cities to travel solo, followed by by Bangalore (83%), Kolkata (76%), Hyderabad (75%) and Chennai where 74 per cent women responded said it is safe for women to travel alone.

About 71 per cent women feel safe travelling in Delhi, the survey showed.

Beaches and hill stations are mostly considered safe destinations by women, with 60 per cent preferring beach and hill station holidays.

Oh consider yourself civilized do you? Nice delusion you have there.

Shut up you piece of shit. Nobody is dissing the good of Indian civilization you say now while we all heard your opinion about Indian civilization as a whole.

I am Indrani. Remember me. Yeah, I come from a middle class background and I have seen the poor as well as the upper middle class people up close. You are not fit to be equal to the dust off their feet. There are more rapes and more stalkers, hookers, and potential rapist in the country BBC originates from than in India.

.
Well, firstly rape per capita in India is far far less than most developed European country.
Per 100,000 rape in:
India is 1.4
UK is 28.8
Sweden is 63.5
Germany is 9.4
Belgium 27.9
France is 16.2

It isn't a fair comparison as most rape cases in South Asia , Middle east go unreported. But i agree that sexual harassments in western nations don't find headlines in Western media.

One hopes you do not rape your wife when you are married. Most Indians understand sex is a conjugal right and freely given and available within marriage and do not feel the need to rape their women. I do not know how it is with the Mallu Christians and if their parents teach them rape is the only way their wives will consent to sleep with them. If so Indian govt should make a special provision to understand mallus rape their wives to get sex.

Kolkata - Police in eastern India said Saturday they were investigating the gang-rape of a 75-year-old nun by burglars who broke into the convent school where she lived.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack on Friday night, when 12 men broke into the convent in West Bengal state.

"A preliminary investigation has revealed that a nun at the school was gagged and gang-raped," police inspector general Anuj Sharma told AFP.

"Two people have so far been arrested," he said, adding that the nun was recovering in hospital.

Local residents took to the streets in anger, shouting slogans demanding action and blocking off the main highway.

‘Horrific attack’

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted her condemnation of what she called a "horrific attack", promising "swift, strongest action".

The incident came at a time of heightened sensitivity over women's safety in India, which last week banned a documentary about the 2012 gang-rape of a student in Delhi that sparked mass protests.

Authorities said screening the documentary could have caused public disorder, but critics accused the government of being more concerned with the country's reputation than the safety of its women.

The December 2012 gang-rape of a young physiotherapy student, who cannot be named, highlighted the frightening level of violence against women in the world's second most populous country and triggered mass protests.

It led to a major reform of India's rape laws, speeding up trials and increasing penalties, although many campaigners say little has changed for women on the ground.

Not to mention that rape is legal in marriage.

Most countries have no law regarding marital rape.

Atleast India has better laws than countries like China where gay rape and child rape is legal. No wonder they have no rape, because its legal in China.
