The Rafale carries heavy
January 26, 2014

The Rafale has successfully completed its first test flight in a new heavily armed configuration, including six air-to-ground precision AASM Hammer, 4 air-to-air missiles and long-range average of the MICA family, 2 Meteor missiles long scope and 3 tanks 2000 liters.

By leveraging the capabilities of its 14 hardpoints, including 8 under canopy, the Rafale, according to Dassault Aviation, the only fighter in the world capable of supporting 1.5 times its own weight. " This ability of omnirole must meet the needs of countries that want to count, controlled costs, on an operational and versatile tool capable of fulfilling all tasks more effectively, mobilizing less.

2 Rafale thus represent a potential equivalent to 6 aircraft Mirage 2000 class. "says the manufacturer.

This new configuration, unmatched by its versatility and firepower it represents, has been made possible thanks to the open architecture of the aircraft designed from the outset to fulfill all tasks assigned previously 7 types of aircraft in France.

This preliminary work, funded by equity of Dassault Aviation and lead to a complete opening of the flight, are the result of a collaboration with the Directorate General of Armaments.

This new development, which combines autonomy and versatility of the weapon system, demonstrates the power and the operational superiority of the Rafale, which already has a unique range of configurations, including a unique ability to deep strike with 2 missiles Scalp cruise and 3 tanks of 2000 liters used by the French army during Operation Harmattan in Libya in 2011.

It can carry the earth itself, but unless they sell it for a reasonable price, we should keep our options open.

Dassault Rafale on steroids 8-)...
lets see if these jets fly with tri colour:angel::coffee:

.
Thing to note.. unlike the Typhoon which is able to carry the Meteor semi recessed.. the Rafale needs hardpoints for it.

Holding the meteor's semi-recessed gives it an advantage because....?

I wish we could get our hands on the Rafale which we can now only dream about! :P

With the Rafale gone, the FGFA (T-50 PAK_FA) project in doldrums, the MiG 21 will continue to rule the roost well into the next decade! :crazy_pilot::angry:

Lower RCS.

With all the jagged little edges and orifices on the bottom of the jet, I'm sure it will have little to no impact on the reduction of the overall RCS. Maybe slightly, but not enough to warrant the loss of 4 mounting points to only one kind of weapon.
