Sure, I guess no one expects the Kenya railway can maintain Chinese standard for a long time, as they cannot self-produce spare parts, machineries, maintenance equipment and many other accompanied services, which requires Chinese work disciplines, Chinese punctuality, Chinese cleanliness etc.

However, the same goes all over the world. Such kind of projects, albeit only shiny in its early years, will still help the locals a lot to improve the quality of their life..

Its the Southern Railway project. The first part is from Matara to Beliatta and it will be further extended to Hamabantota after that, It will most likely be extended even further

As you see here the South and South East of SL is not connected to the Railway system
