No it is not
It is pro-choice.
Bleek bhai, it seems pro-choice but such things are never. There was a girl on TV from that city Shimoga where this started. She said that she and her friends are stuck between her parents who want to force the burqa on them and the schools and colleges who want them not wear the burqa. There are of course a few misinformed and misguided girls like Muskan who are stubborn in their choice of the garment and carry out "My burqa is my pride" marches but mostly it will be her and her supporting misinformed and misguided "community elders" and their foot soldiers who will enforce the burqa on those who don't want to wear it. These people create an an environment of oppression and suffocation.
In Afghanistan in the the fear kingdom of the Taliban some females are kicking and burning the burqa in public defiances and here in India these made-by-media prominent girls and their supporting groups are speaking in favor of the burqa. Quite a contrast. During my school and two college years no girl wore the burqa, not even a headscarf. That was their choice - real choice. The burqa fanaticism of now among some is a recent thing. Why does the media not show the views of those females who are forced to wear it ? Their discomfort and suffocation ?
