Great development.. hope Pakistani investors invest for more refineries in Pakistan and make maximum use of this short route and catch maximum energy market in China..

off course, Pakistan will earn too in royalties and Jobs opportunities..

Agree with you infact I guess the time is right that a an investment fund is set up in Pakistan where general Pakistani's can invest too for the success of CPEC and to reap its benefits.

Considering oversea Pakistani's are sending nearly 15 billion dollars annually backhome and combine it with pakistani's in mainland I guess setting a 20-30 billion dollar fund for a decade isnt a big thing all it needs is a proper planning and execution.

Rather shift the population away from an "enemy" categorized since birth, social immobility has cause the development of most of Pakistan's largest cities to be mere kilometers from the border.

Oh plz .... don't encourage a troll ... you must realize what he was meant ....

Not oly in Pakistan but almost allover the world most of population lives near rivers so as in Pakistan population centers are situated at both banks of river Indus its all natural .... JUST FOR SAKE OF EXAMPLE plz have a look at the following maps

Even Iran can invest in pipeline and refineries on Build operate and transfer base.. just like Russia doing with its $2 billion pipeline in Pakistan, after all Iran would earn big too if we got success in catching big share of Chinese energy market..

I wonder why the strategic planners

:omghaha:

Well in this age of cruise and ballistic missiles distances doesnt matter .

Drones, Aircraft Carriers, Air Tankers, Atoms... yeah...

But even in the 1950s-present Pakistan knew they would never be able to match India on a conventional battlefield. Chawinda and the Stand on the gates of Lahore got to them. Now it's gotten to a point where any attempt by India to take a populated city along the border will result in crossing the nuclear threshold.

I agree, humans settlements are built upon their proximity to water. But we're talking about countries that have fought 3 wars and more skirmishes. Back in the 50s the Pakistani population was maybe 45 million? Now it's a balloon at 200 million 444% rise.

The rivers serve as a geographical block to any Indian advances from the east. But from Jammu Kashimir? Face it the lack of social mobility prohibited mobility on socio-economic grounds.

If i'm not wrong the Ravi River borders Lahore to the west, Model Town, Lahore was on the fringes of the city back in the 50s? Rather than encouraging expansion to the western banks of Ravi the LHE was built on the Eastern...
