Islamists have a very skewed sense of victory and defeat - for them a successful suicide blast or a killing of numerous civilians in an area where a certain army operates is a huge success and victory and they do their hullaballoo dance all over the net and media.

Even if the opposing forces have decimated the country (for e.g. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria or any other location where jihadis operate) or have killed thousands of their kind or have jailed thousands of their kind - if they are successful to burrow themselves and survive to some extent - it means they are victorious.

Judging by the vast majority of ISIS videos ive seen, a militia formed of fat overweight Americans could defeat them, they have zero discipline, very little training and most of their experience is shooting at fleeing soldiers, the only ones who have proper experience were beaten by the likes of Kurds/Militas.

ISIL's strongest aspect is not its military power, but the nervousness it tries to induce into enemy's heart through ultra-savage ways of killings, torturing etc. If you become victim of that fear, you will lose fighting them. Otherwise, any moderately trained army can literally own ISIL.

One of their other tactics is massive use of VBIEDs (which can be very effective if it reaches target) and also making good use of what they have e.g Toyotas, mortars, machine guns, also using hit and run tactics and war of attrition. If you find ways to counter them (just like Iraqis have learned after months of fighting), ISIL will become much easier to beat. To sum it up, their psychological warfare is much stronger than their military power.

Absolute majority of ISIL's VBIEDs in Iraq and Syria now fail to reach their final destinations (destroyed by ATGMs, tanks) and almost in all cases, they have failed to accomplish their objectives in such cases, which proves my point.

ISIL's primary aim was to establish a caliphate , not plan more attack Israel .

Also attacking Israel would further strengthen Hezbollah which is an opponent of ISIL.
