Anyways the two state solution is out of the question now due to all those illegal settlements in the West Bank, so its either the status quo or a one state solution (in Palestine!, not the whole f'ing Middle East). It depends on the mentality of the people. In Saudi Arabia, for example, 99% are Muslims who want Sharia law to rule over them due to religious obligations. Not all Muslims want Sharia, but I can estimate the amount would be at least 85%, as one Prince said. So, although we think democracy is ideal, it is doubtful if Saudis would accept it.

As far as i know, the role of religion in state matters is decreasing rapidly in Saudi and other GCC states. Soon, they will be theocratic only in namesake.
