Tabassum may be Persian or Arabic, but yes it is used in Urdu as well. Don't know its origin, though.

It is origin from Arabic and its mean same "Smile"

Nahi iwill check urdu literature say pata chal jaey ga. I am really obsessed with perfecting urdu. Hum log english kay peechay bhagtay hain apni zabanon ko hum nay poochna hee chor diya hai. So i walk in opp direction i dont care much with english , i really try going well with urdu. But i cant pick complicated words at times when i read them tafseer e quran.

I read it many times in the books. Let me give you an example "Hamaray Nabi (PBUP) nay aap ki baat sun kar Tabassum Farmaya" It normally used with highest respect and that is an example of it. In Islamic books you may find many examples of that

Exactly that’s what I was saying, it’s formally used not in conversational. You go up to a local kid playing cricket in the streets of Lahore and say the same thing and you will get the same response as me.

Hes perhaps south indian cause south indians ki urdu bohat kharab hoti hai which they call hindi on their side.

Brother no body beats Karachi now, Hyderabadi accent is not pure urdu if you said Lakhnow then i can say yes few year back but now Lakhnow also not following good accent compare to older generation.
