The 'miscellaneous' blunder in India's Rafale deal

There are some Dallals of Rafale on this forum.. calling all Anti Rafale has paid journalists...
French are milking India with this expensive fighter which no one bought because of its price...

Yes and most of these dalals don't even hold an Indian passport and yet they are on PDF 24/7 promoting foreign maal.

None of this refutes what the article is suggesting in any shape, way or form.

Of course it does, the author falsly tried to implicate that the French increased the price of the Scorpene subs (and are now doing the same with the Rafale) which is wrong because we went to the French and asked to buy more things that we needed to produce the sub, because we simply misjudged the work. This additional procurement then logically costs additional money, but was not a cost increase by the French side!

So that alone is wrong but then he tries to relate the whole issue to the MMRCA and the increased costs, although neither the Rafale was selected yet, nor have we started the licence production and face similar problems, or that the industry would be have the same lack of knowledge, since HAL has plenty experience in licence productions of fighters, which wasn't available for MDL and subs. Add the fact that even the cost increase of MRCA and M-MRCA was as well a decision by us, to gain further benefits and you have a clear view about the reliability of the article.

How is this an excuse for not negotiating critical parts of sub while signing the contract.

Who didn't negotiate? From the article:

But more notably, this lapse in conclusively negotiating the Scorpene deal at one go appears to be one by MoD and naval officials who were either professionally incompetent or deliberately careless or both in determining essential equipment that puzzlingly and in all probability, much to DCNS’ delight, emerged later.

The author is blaming IN and MoD, not DCNS, so why does he blame the French for increasing the costs then, when he admits that it was issues on our side that caused these additional costs? It simply doesn't make sense and shows that the article is fabricated, especially when the only similarity he wants to point to, are higher costs in the sub and fighter procurement, even of both have different reasons and are not based at the French side so far.

Also can provide your credentials since you speak with authority on most defense deals while rest of us can only speculate.

I don't speak with any authority, never claimed to do so. I only state my opinion just like you do too. That's what a forum is about, getting infos and discussing about certain topics. The more informations you get from various sources, the better you can make up your own mind about a topic.

Scrape Rafale....Viva Tejas mk2. Buy additional Super Sukhoi as stop gap measure.

Man you have nailed it, that is truly the right path as 5th gen is on the horizon for IAF and MKI is still the most powerful plane in Subcontinent, but as India have plenty of $$$ to spend then why not give some life by spending 30 Billion $ to dying french fighter aviation industry. :D
