The Malaysian miracle: some lessons for Pakistan

This is Singapore Airforce. Don't forget it's a city state smaller then Lahore. One wonders who they intend to fight? Russia? And their front line fighter is F-15 Eagle which was until recently USAF's premier air superiority fighter and way ahead of F-16. Without a doubt Singapore Airfiorce is way ahead of PAF.

Deterrence for its neighbours, in case the impossible happens.

It is near impossible :3

. .
No. Malaysia invested heavily in military because of Singapore/Indonesia. Singapore is a city state [smaller then Lahore] with a army/airforce so large that could take on Pakistan. They have national compulsory service.

If u compare Pakistan n malaysia military.
We are quite naked

Ask the Indians. Ask the Pakistani's. Their militaries are classed as 'defence forces'. Even Us claims their forces are for deterrence. Name me country that defines it's military as "aggressor"?

Agreed,by itself it does not. However it is exposition or symbolic of something deeper. Turkey, Malaysia, indonesia have adopted Roman. Interestingly they are amongst the most advanced Muslim majority countries by wide margin.

Kazakhstan is ditching Cryllic soon for Latin, and you forgot Azerbaijan which also uses Latin

Are you sure?

32 million ~ Malaysia ~ 90k soldiers
200 million ~ Pakistan ~ 600k soldiers

If you factor size both have about the same force size. Malaysia has huge 300k reserve. Yet has no lumbering, huge enemy unless the city state called Singapore is a threat?

Can have symbolic value; idk if it would work with Pakistan, even symbolically. Iran have banned english at the primary level altogether. They start teaching English with other foreign languages as electives after primary education. Have similar alphabets like us and have literacy rate of astounding 97%. Now that's impressive.

Desis [mangled Hindoo/Muslim] won't consider them as Muslims but as 'kanjars'.

This why a lot of "Pakistanis" abroad are not well liked by other Muslims because they are too preachy lol, damn Arabs and their wahhabism cancer bought in the 1970s and 1980s plus I hate the Desism, its courupted Pakistan as well and it made it hard to culturally spilt away from the Gangas

Using latin alphabets as a factor? Maybe
But korea, china, taiwan, japan dont, so errr
Chalk and cheese comparison. They don't have Islamic tradition and non of them used Arabic characters before arrival of Europeans. Malay used Jawi

which you ditched for Latin after British left and standarised in 1972.

Very sure, we dont have enough naval vessels to guard our coast from being infiltrated by extremists from south Philippines. Most of our fighters jets are not in operational condition which includes su-30mkm. Best of all got no Nukes man.

Not sure why u keep seeing MY n SG is a threat to each other.

The 2 are too reliant on each other to afford to go guns blazing, too much to lose.

The most both military ever did was UN peacekeeping missions.

Anyway we are way out of topic.

I did not say they saw each other as threat but for a fact both My/Sg maintain military forces far, far larger by size compared to Pakistan. Thus establishing my contention that servicing huge armies is not per se reason for lack of development.
