The launching ceremonies of the first & second Saudi vessel Avante 2200

Today, the Saudi Royal Navy holds the flotation ceremony of His Majesty's "Al-Jubail" ship, the first ship out of 5 of the Avante 2200.

The ceremony will be held remotely at the Naval Forces Headquarters in Riyadh in conjunction with the float ceremony in the Kingdom of Spain, via a television circuit.

Today 14 th November 2020 in Navantia San Fernando, the second Saudi Corvette will be launched, which will bear the name Diriyah 830..

It is a really good corvette packed with potent weapons for its size..and this is just the first deal with Navantia..many more to come..

2 Galicia class 14000 tons LPDs in design and negotiations phase as well as the F110 Multirole frigates..

The frigate is considered the best in Europe and the best in the world for air defense missions because it is based on the BMD Aegis component..

SPY-1D radar developed for ballistic defense and detection from long distances of 500 km, 48 cells with SM-2 Block IIIB missiles with a range of 180 km and a dual active and thermal search for various targets with ESSM missiles ..

Means that the frigate carries 32 SM-2 missiles and 64 ESSM missiles..

The F-110 is the latest Navantia program for the Spanish Navy and is a multi-mission and boosted for anti-submarine warfare (ASW)

* The establishment of an integrated system for military industries in Saudi Arabia is on and going. with France also..

The two groups intend to manufacture naval vessels, frigates and submarines in the Kingdom," the official Saudi Press Agency quoted the CEO of the Saudi company Andreas Scheuer as saying..

Yeah there probably won't be any more deals with Germany I would think from now on. That kind of price to pay is too steep IMO for a country like Germany to hold the higher moral ground on an issue like that and to make it part of a military contract. One should never had anything to do with the other.

Not sure about that bro.. Germany does not ban any sales to KSA apart from some weapons it considers offensive.. (which is hypocrisy! when we think about Houthis and sale to Usrael of sophisticated submarines with nuclear cruise missiles capabilities and almost for free!???) and that comes from some political parties only..Merkel always wanted to sell, but she had to give up to the pressure from those parties..The relationship seems not bad at all as Merkel just talked on the phone with King Salman a few days ago and the German foreign minister was visiting the kingdom 2 days ago..!?
