The latest Incredible India Commercial, Directors Cut 2013

I think many people mock India for many reason especially poverty, pollution etc. and many ills in the society but still you will enjoy it. If you ever come to India, let me know, I will be more than happy to show you around.

How much do you charge per day?? I would love to see rural India no city bs ;)

I think it's similar to when people shrug their shoulders when they are unsure or are not bothered.

Bangladeshi's dont do that kind of gesture though.. !

In Bangladesh they swing the head horizontally to show negativity and vertically to show affirmativity same as chinese or west. But Indians make a weird gesture which can confuse the hell out of you.

I heard that in Bulgaria it is the exact opposite. I.e. They shake their head side-to-side for yes, and nod up-and-down for no.

From a tourism point of view India needs to improve Varanasi, hear loads of foreign tourist complaining about the visit there.

CD is a friend so no charge. I will bear all the charge happily. :D

Rural India is as exciting as my current city and home town. Both are good tourist destination. My village is tough to spend time though.

If you come to India, let me know. :enjoy: I can explain rural India on PDF itself.

They also do this when they can't believe something just happened.

I think its a more of a South Indian thing, the head wobble thing? Its sorta part of south Indian languages, like the hand gestures in Italian language.

And it is also used for asking "is it alright?" as in "Theek hai nai?"

Most of rural India at least in the south is nicer than the cities. It is usually clean , less populated and lush.

That is pretty generous buddy. :woot:

But I probably won't be visiting India anytime soon, not until the memory of this forum has worn off at least. And I always compensate my hosts for any charges incurred, otherwise it would be a huge loss of face etc. :P

Yes. Head bobbing is to convey "alright" or OK. for yes and no is is the same as rest of the world.

i was in goa once during prime tourist season.
as i walked along, i saw a strange sight. an indian guy! we met and had a few beers.
it was fun!

.
why do they have a white woman as the centerpiece of the commerical?

they should show her attempting walk the streets of mumbai or delhi or perhaps taking a bus from there. :azn:

Beacause this series is designed to increase TOURISM for India and is aimed at FOREIGNERS (WHITE PEOPLE) and will be used almost entirely outside of India. Is this really that hard to comprehend??

Coolest part of that vid was the elephant swimming (sort of) in A&N (I think)- white beaches and crystal clear water, looked AMAZING!!
