Think we will see a rapid phase of development and economic growth because for the first time in the history of Pak I'm seeing that every discussion is coming back to the economy and how to stand up on our feet and the national narrative is turning towards economic development and prosperity. Pakistan of 2030 would be alot more prosperous than Pak of 2020. Inshallah
First phase is healing
Second phase is reconstruction
Third phase is expansion

Thangs for tag. If you use 2010, as a benchmark Pakistan is immeasurably in a better place today then it was. Just to remind in 2010 Pakistan was seen as failed and about to crack up into small entities ruled by warlords. People were busy drawing new maps. The fall of Islamabad was imminent. Not a question of if but when. Obama, poor chap could not sleep at night as he kept having nightmares about Pakistan and went grey.

Today we are about to recieve British royalty on tour. So things look far better. How will next decade fare. That requires a more detailed response that I will tender later.

I think if our economy and govt institutions not become strong we will again go back to similar conditions as antistate elements are still present in much nos but have become dormant ,when they find any opportunity from civil unrest they will again become activated

The pass decade was a tough time for pakistan
All the bloodshed and violence has eneded for us and its time we move forward for a better pakistan
Thr path infront of us is a very tough one but im sure if we pakistanis work together we can achive anything

First 5 years of 2010 were worst ever for Pakistan. Still recovering from that despite terrorism being down 95% since then.

Apart from that few good things have happened in last 5 years that will make sure Pakistan is better prepared for future. And to make sure terrorists dont hold any area.

1. Change of Afghan policy along with border fence.

2. Decades old violence ridden Karachi finally see peace.

3. FATA is now merged with KP and no longer hub of lawless like in post 9/11 when militants found refugee there.

Though for proper economic development of any region even low level militant attacks can ruin it.

Yupp I remember 2008-2012 was real bad times as folks like my dad were taunted by nose non Pakistani friends why tf you going to Pakistan for vacation and since I was kid going from elementary to middle school we would leave a couple days from school year end had to get permission note and my teachers were like wtf you bringing your child there for vacation OBL in 2011 did not help at all now Pakistan was in the map for the wrong reason man it's so ancient history now lol,but things have sorta improved thanks Iron Bro China for BRI and CPEC I know some folks living abroad harp on Debt Trap and muh Uyghurs but geo politically it saved us from Uncle Sam's wrath

Man Col.Ralph Peter's might be kicking his legs now and all those neo cons on Fox News

if our education
Unfortunately we have too much education, but in the wrong subjects. We place too much store on religion. Count the number of madaris and mullahs teaching how to reach heaven but not enough universities teaching how to reach Mars.

While we produce hafiz the west produces men and wmen to design, build F-16s, Su-30s, nuclear submarines. And too many qari's but we have to import Chinese boys to build our bridges and motorways.

This needs changing, Fast !

So in a couple of months we will be saying good bye to the decade of the 2010s what a decade of massive political, social and economic changes we have observed for the most part its been gloomy, Color revolutions, Middle Eastern Springs, shift from neo-liberalism in the west to more nationalism, ISIS, China mounting its role in concrete terms through the Belt and Road projects, Russia again trying reassert its role in the world, Turkey becoming more influential in the Islamic world, and Saudi/Iran proxy wars heating up more anyways I am not making this thread about those events I wanna discuss Pakistan in the 2010s and for us to understand in what ways things have changed for better or worse. In 2009 Pakistan was in dire straits, Swat valley was under control of the TTP terrorists, bombings were frequent, investments dried up, it really looked like the end was near when the TTP was just 60 miles from the Capital,MQM was doing dirty stuff as usual in Karachi, target killings all over,Zardari aka Mr.10% in power looting and plundering the worst we seen in Pakistan's history 2010/2011 no better OBL being killed really hurt the reputation further I could write a timeline but thats not my point what has the 2010s in general been for Pakistan and whats the next decade will be like

Life is what you make it. Each one of us has to grasp the opportunities, think about our priorities, do what we want to do today, not leave it for tomorrow.

Our country will be fine, things are getting better, people like us are trying to make things better.

What needs to happen is mass vocational education in all areas I was reading recently how Mao"s Cultural Revolution that wrecked havoc in their education that when Deng took over he initiated adult education schools for the left over folks send down folks we need to promote adult vocational education in massive ways

Money.Money.Money
Economy.Economy.Economy

People won't send their children to schools till they are assured that getting education will give them a job.
