If you subjectively feel your life is threatened you have the right to shoot to kill and get away with it. Utter the words "I will kill you" and hold a sharp pencil or a brick or a skateboard and bang you are dead, if you are slower to pull the trigger. Even more concerning is that there are a lot white folks threatening civil war and are preparing for it. Whereas a lot of democratic states have tough gun controls and the populace is less armed most republican states are overly armed.
