I found the talk more like an advise to BJP why it lost. Although he is right about women not voting for BJP. This would be especially so in places like Mangalore where Bajrang Dal does moral policing. Though there is also the "Muslim" equivalent - the SDPI - which is the election-participating wing of PFI.
But the talk had no mention at all of Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra.
They are not Hindutvavadis to begin, their leaders proudly proclaim how its a secular institution with members from various religious backgrounds.

It is well deserved. In other parts of the world people are voting for people of a totally different color/religion etc as long as he/she is the best person for the job and here we have people dumping a party because some people from their shitty subsect were dumped. So a party not only has to worry about finding a candidate of the same religion, language and caste of the populace, but also worry about sects, subsects etc.
Although parties, elections and votes are not democracy but an illusion of democracy you are right about the extremely complicated Indian social system which is not found elsewhere. I find it ridiculous when nationalist Indians crow "In India language and dress change every 100 kilometers". What for ?

BJP has not delivered on the promise in Karnataka, so this was coming. I hope they have taken the message and buck up for the upcoming elections.

I am still Indian and I can still vote if I am in India. I have voted in all the general elections till far. I am abroad for financial reasons but I still have stake (family) in India. BJP at the center is the reality of India for foreseeable future that no Joe can change.

A big factor for national elections would be viable opposition candidates. Someone that can rally the opposition to their cause like PM Modi did.
Congress has been unable for the last decade, no other suitable viable exists.
