lol we don't even fear US nuke which over 5000+ And we're scare of Japanese Nuke? but you can offer the advise to Japan that they're sitting on the critical ring of fire, we can literally sink the entire Japan with a simple tectonic bombs.
I am not surprised - always suspected as much. Japanese are extremely talented and capable.
They abandoned there militaritic ways by choice. Otherwise, this is a country that even the mighty US had second thoughts about in regards to invasion.
An Indian saying China should be fearing Japan. Japanese won't be developing any nuclear weapons and China isn't gonna invade Japan either , Japs have more to fear from DPRK

Taiwan maybe but China not, it only require China to drop some shockwave bombs into Fuji mountain crater to shake the foundation of Japan or drop some bombs on their tectonic junction plate to create tsunami. These Japanese are so scare when we sent Ocean explorer ship at Japan vicinity, they know their own weakness that China might exploit one day.

I believe that a country which may develop the capability to exploit natural environment to its advantage in a war, will win the war in the future. The game is not just about technology.
China is a scary foe to begin with - full of surprises and ingenuity. If Indians do not get this, they are in for a rude awakening.
Only US has the capability to fight China on its terms at present. Japan has potential but it turned cold after WW2 in this respect.
Nonetheless, Japanese technological prowess is 2nd to none. Lot of evidence in this respect.

In WWII, Japan was beyond our reach, they could bomb Shanghai and other of our cities to kill our innocents civilians but we didn't have any mean to retaliate, today they wont have a safe heaven to hide from us, we will bring the battle to their homeland and make them pay for the pass crime they have committed if war ever happen again, exploiting their natural environment vulnerability is the cheapest way to defeat Japan.
Exploiting the natural environment is nothing new, US takes advantage of controlling the choking point such as Malacca strait, Indians have thinking to take advantage of their geographical location to control Indian Ocean and set blockade to our merchant ship, and we as Chinese we certainly know how to take our Tibet geographic advantage over India such as water diversion or make India Navyless with our DF-21D
Everyone knows that Japan is one of the first signatories to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and some know that the Japanese Constitution contains the three points that prevent the manufacture, use or purchase of nuclear weapons.
But the truth may be a bit strange. Many may not know that Japan has all the techniques of the nuclear cycle. Some may not know that Japan has its own uranium enrichment plants and special plants to produce military plutonium. Some may not know that Japan now has more than 1400kg of enriched uranium in its possession. Many may not know that what is frightening to China is a nuclear Japan, and that more than a Chinese has spoken of this continuing concern official.
There was a leak in the Chinese press about a meeting between Chinese President and Vice President Joe Biden. The meeting was a bit sharp and it was up to the vice president to say to the president of China: Japan is capable of becoming a military nuclear state tomorrow morning.
So let us look at the truth of this talk, is it just a threat, or is Japan really capable of becoming a military nuclear state with long-range strike capabilities?
1- Japan's energy sector revealed in 2014 the amount of plutonium found in Japan that has been kept secret for decades. The Washington Post says it is enough to build 1,000 nuclear warheads.
2- Japan owns the Rakacho uranium enrichment plant.
3- Japan and the United States of America announced in 2014 that a transfer of 30% of locally enriched uranium to the United States will take place. The United States returned them to Japan in 2016 at the request of Japan.
4- Japan announced that it has long-range missile launch capabilities in 2015 and 2016 by launching six missiles from the Mitsubishi industry. While Japan assured neighboring countries that it is for civilian use only.
5- Tokyo's government adviser retired general Toshiyaki Shikata said the space-rocket test was in fact an experience of Japan's ability to direct and control missiles outside the atmosphere and drop its capsules on specific sites on the ground; Mitsubishi designed a propulsion system similar to the US missile system LGM-118 with modifications to its military-civilian conversion.
6- Japan today has all the technologies related to uranium enrichment, plutonium production, missile construction and the direction of capsules to different locations on the surface of the earth. It also has the entire nuclear cycle from start to finish with local capabilities.
Japan enjoys free uranium enrichment and the production of military plutonium for high-efficiency civilian uses.
Former Japanese Defense Minister Shigaro Ishada said:
"I do not think Japan needs a nuclear bomb, but it is important to keep our nuclear facilities, enrichment laboratories and plutonium production so that we can get an atomic bomb as quickly as necessary."
The @SC, please add a seventh and most important point:
Japan unlike North Korea has demonstrated reentry of vehicle with second space velocity capability, as early as June 14, 2010. The next test of a disguised warhead will be conducted by December 2020.
This was done under the guise of sending a civilian JAXA space probe to an asteroid and returning the reentry vehicle to Earth.
The space agency being used as a convenient cover for Japan's nuclear WMD program.
Hayabusa is the name of the spacecraft sent on 9 May 2003 around asteroid Itokawa in mid-September 2005. Notice that no lander ever reached its surface!!
The reentry vehicle (read warhead) was recovered in the South Australian outback on 13 June 2010.
Hayabusa2 is the next test. Launched on 3 December 2014, Hayabusa2 is expected to arrive at the target asteroid 162173 Ryugu in July 2018, survey the asteroid for a year and a half, depart in December 2019, and return to Earth in December 2020.

Coincidence? I think not!
