The Indo-US allianceand Its Implications for Pakistan

France a traditional ally? They were literally selling us Mirages by the dozens only a few decades ago. In fact, now they are offering to help out JF-17. Those sneaky French aren't anyone's allies but themselves.

Traditional ally is a wring word but yes an ally.

. . .
Is it not a fact that india has allowed the US armed forces to use the bases and ports in india? What are the military benefits india is getting from the indo-US nuclear treaty? Arms trade is only part of the pie, if it wasn't so significant Congress and communist parties wouldn't be so upset. Must I quote what they have been saying about it?

Underlined part: NO

Red Part: Nil. No military aspect. On the contrary, we have ended up marking our military and no-military reactors thus increasing surveillance. However, the benefit in power sector is tremendous and since India recognizes that military power is the thing of the past and it has to improve its socio-economic indices to actually amount to something, this is of immense benefit as we are uranium deficient and our efforts at thorium based reactors are not that much in success.

Green Part: You and I belong to India of pre-1947 having the same thoughts of subservience and disunity as our forefathers which allowed the Brits to rule over an India which had historic religious and social harmony, and now inherited after independence and formation of new states. Need I say more?

Key points of LSA.
-US will share technological info to india for preparing of defense industries in india.
-South China Sea collaboration.
-Arming India through aircrafts and missiles.
-Control over Indian ocean.
-keep a check on CPEC and China Pak relations.
-Building indian influence in middle eastern countries.

Read LSA and then write this ... LOL

RECENTLY, US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter reportedly opened a meeting with senior Pakistani military leaders by declaring: “I must tell you, I am a friend of India.”

He will not last long in his position.

@Horus I guess you are referring to this

He was not referring to himself personally he was just articulating the Thinking in the
state department and the Pentagon

BTW this opening remark was aimed to let your delegation know that the TIMES have truly

What does Pakistan even have to offer US in comparison to India?

.
Washington may come to accept coexistence and cooperation with the new superpower.
That may never happen. US wont ever accept that.
It may also come to recognize that Pakistan is a critical country whose cooperation is vital to ensure regional stability in south and west Asia, to prevent nuclear non-proliferation, and to and defeat global terrorism. Perhaps then, Washington will respect Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns.
True but I have certain concerns due to strong US-India relations.

Lets as Pakistanis not fool ourselves India is a an economic Jewel. Some see opportunity others see competition. Things are gonna get tough. A systematic wave of disinformation and tightening around economic interests of Pakistan either in US or Europe. A renewed mantra of insecurity of Nuclear assets, nuclear miniaturisation of nuclear warheads to give 'cold doctrine' a new life.
If successful a false flag followed by quick 'embarrassment' of Pak forces with ultimate acceptance of India as regional power with unfettered access and hegemony. India cannot be a 'American Chowkidar' against China till Pakistan keeps on pestering India as a Badger.
Russia isn't committing to Pakistan yet, Putin it seems doesn't trust Pakistan still plus wouldn't like to lose India as a substantial buyer. They are waiting till India -US affair starts to affect them economically, which India will be smart enough to avoid.
So in a nut shell Pakistan shouldn't expect much from Russia and US will be ultimately frustrated with working with Indians at the end. It is a different world from dealing with tactless Pakistani Generals, politicians and sidelined foreign service.

A very fair and balanced article.

Excellent preview. Totally acknowledged. I want to add my fews in it. Indian action against flase flag has some time atleast 2 years after the deal finalization because before that US wants to make sure Pakistan will not use its nuclear weapons and China might not ready for that or may be they will be threatened in south china sea from US naval force which makes them non-reactive in any action against Pakistan if 5% of chines support chance.
I belive big game will begin in pacific to neutralize China before any action against Pakistan.
Russian economy is in crises and they need cash and they are heavily dependent on Indians for it so it will be difficult for them to support us. Chinese has to think out of the box and support Bangladesh for future clash and keep a good relation with Bangladesh to keep India in check. Hasina playing a key role for india to sabotage peace with Pakistan by hanging of some Jamat islamis. Malaysia and Indonesia can play a major role in it if Pakistan wants to neutralize indian threat then they should re think its strategy.

Personally I think Hasina's Govt won't survive long. I think China should be more proactive now in Arabian sea as well as far east.

Hasina has become thrid time PM and she will remain PM until 2019. Problem is the way she is killing her opponents, anyway it is their internal matter. Only interest chinese have in indian ocean is to protect its trade to africa and middle east. CPEC help them to less dependent on US and India in indian ocean so they will not care too much on it or i would say not ready to take the battle onto the enemy land until or unlesz CPEC project will be finished. China also working in myanmar to counter the threat.

The JF-17's engine being Russian is just a progression of Russian and Pakistani relations. Like you lot, we dabble with our Cold war enemy.

Also, if India went full on America (as in buys Hornets and Vipers in large quantities) then Russia will ditch you guys for us, and if Pakistan goes full on Russia, America will ditch us.

Why does Russia care for Pakistan ? Even if Pakistan bought 100% of weapons from Russia how much business can you provide them ?

At the height of cold war we only had a relation with both France and Israel. It was only after the breakdown of Soviet union and liberalisation of our economy that France and Israel gained much more importance.

Hint :- wonder why more Agoatas weren't made?

It was the support that they gave during our sanctions and 1999 that changed the equations.

After that the relations have been on bloom. Indian army taking part in Bastille day parade and French armed forces coming in Republic day parade.

If not ally then they are surely one of 3 upon whom we can rely.
