The Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran display team flies again

After a break of more than four years the fixed wing display team of the Indian Air Force (Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team- SKAT) is once again flying and now they are operating brand new Hawk Mk.132 AJTs in place of the Kiran. Their first public appearance will be the IAF's 83rd Raising day celebrations:

The team had been asked to make themselves ready for this occasion and hence they are performing whilst not at full strength- their performance at the raising day celebrations will only be a 4 ship formation. In due time the team will be in possession of 21 air crafts allowing them to bring back their iconic "diamond" formation and undertake their infamous 9-ship aerobatic displays.

In order to maintain a 9-ship formation year round for both displays but, more importantly, exhaustive practices, requires a, relatively, large fleet.

I know, used visit there almost every month couple of years bak... the 2 attraction there is the Base and a gurdwara, otherwise a boring place - Belgaum is another hub

Badass suits.. damn.. The next thing IAF should do is make some quality videos of our fighter jets demonstrating their capabilities.. the top gun kind of stuff.. I am pretty sure it will inspire the youth a lot.. Like the ones made by KNAAPO.. The IAF videos found on youtube are pretty boring.. Like made in the 90s..
