The India-U.S. nuclear stalemate

Proven uranium reserves are adequate for approximately 25 years, thorium based FBR should be feasible by then and you're sitting on the largest thorium field in the world. :coffee:

Nothing to worry I guess. ;)

There is a very detailed paper written by Ashley.J.Tellis on the deal. I had a printed copy back home. It had all data on uranium mines. Apparently we can go on for a little longer without fuel support if we invested in our mines.

Irrespective of this and the US designs to contain our local programs India should not hesitate to squeeze as much juice as it can from the deal. Sure, it wont see the day light soon, but hey whats the hurry and I told you it simply wont be simple!

PS:Joey has already said whatever has to be said.

AFAIK, India is not putting the experimental FBR in the civilian category. Hence they are not prone to inspection or IAEA safeguards.
