KARACHI: The Hindu community is celebrating annual religious festival of Holi with traditional enthusiasm today (Sunday).

The main event of the Holi festival is being celebrated at Suami-Narayn Mandir in Karachi.

The Hindu community of Sindh, KP and Balochistan is also celebrating Holi, spraying different colours on each other, as the Holi is regarded as the beginning of spring season.

Colourful events will be held in different localities and temples of the Hindu community, where children and women will also participate with warmth and religious devotion in the day-long proceedings.

holi and diwali were absolutely the best two days of my friends when I was a kid... and possibly the worst for me.. I used to hide during holi cause I hate color on me.. and diwali was much less fun because my parents thought burning crackers was same as burning money(they even forced me to donate money to a specific hindu sect one year ... and I was sh*t scared of crackers anyway so guess I obliged quickly) :(
happy holi.

Holi is not a religious festival per se but a cultural one , more to celebrate arrival of spring/end of winter.

Yesterday Indian community had organised Holi festival in the ground near me. They were singing loud so I went there to check out what was going on. While I was standing before the stage, a child girl came running towards with color in her hand and she gave me five right on my tummy. Then she looked at me, giggled and ran away.

That was first time "I played Holi" and I liked it.

Hope the Hindu community enjoyed their festival well with their families and the festival was "incident free across the border"

(Obviously the 10-15% folks who are open minded)

The Search Engine Google is showing an animated Doodle in many Countries for celebrating the Holi Festival.

Holi is a Hindu spring festival in India and Nepal, also known as the "festival of colours" or the "festival of love".

The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships, and is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest.

Holi is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia.

Holi celebrations start on the night before Holi with a Holika bonfire where people gather, do religious rituals in front of the bonfire, and pray that their internal evil should be destroyed as the bonfire starts.

Unfortunately Holi in America has been culturally appropriated and perverted from it's original message
