If they need trade routes then they need to convene Pakistan to give them by accepting Kashmir as legitimate territory of Pakistan and give it back to where it belongs.

Then only they can get any benefit from us. There is no such thing as free lunch.

No one cares about road to Kabul or elswhere if Kashmir is the price being quoted. There will be no changes to the borders as existing, i.e. LoC except for minor ones. I keep wondering what people are thinking when they imagine that India will negotiate away Kashmir for some route to CAS.

Its was english who made us their slaves and we r still today. Even in Muslim empires the hindus were part of Darbars and even Akbar has a Wazir who was a hindu and was one of the greatest statesmen the Muslim empires ever had anywhere in the world. His name was Chander something forgot his complete name.

Lets not forget we even made the Muslim Empires of South Asia a Golden Sparrow and we Muslims were always in Minority as well.

India is geographically isolated from Central Asia. They can not trade with Central Asia without the permission of Pakistan or China, to allow them route through their territory.

As for Indian presence in Afghanistan? I doubt they can have a real influence in Afghanistan, all they can do is give money to some people in Afghanistan to use them as proxy, but it is Afghanistan, they would just take the money, won't do what the Indians tell them. Real players are those, who border Afghanistan.

Even then, neighbours of Afghanistan who border probably won't send their troops in, to actually attempt to control Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a grave yard of empires, anyone who tried to control or conquer it, has seen demise and defeat, not even USA and USSR are immune to it with all their advance technology...


You can not even bury India in this grave yard of empires because Indians are just not there.

PS: Afghanistan is an unstable region, even if Pakistan wants to trade with Central Asia. Route through Karakoram, China, silk route, to Central Asia sounds much safer...plus I imagine China would have better infrastructure than Afghanistan.

Most of all; we have to keep in mind that there is'nt only ONE Route to the CARs......

Exactly .CARs are connected to seaports by two much safer and reliable routes . On eastern side , to Kasghar , Sinkiang , China . Kasghar has a good rail and road connection with rest of China . Kashghar is connected to three of CARs (Kyrgystan,Tajikistan and Kazkhstan) . However Mountaneous passages and Kasghars distance from major chinese ports (upto 6000 km) make this route a difficult and expensive one .. Other route is the western route . Tashkent - Ashgabet - Iran . This route is shorter and railway lines connect tashkent to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas .Previously railway line was missing in some parts of Iran and cargo had to be taken on trucks , slow handling and hard custom rules made this route very slow one (It almost took 42 days for a shipment to reach tashkent from Iranian port). But lately there has been a lot of improvement .....
However the shortest route to central Asia is through Chaman(Pakistan) into Kandhar(Afghanistan) and then onto Central Asia ... Its much shorter but highly dangerous (If Passable at all) .. The railway line proposed from Kasghar (China) to Gawadar(Pakistan) is more feasible as it will not only reduce the distance from sinkiang to sea port by 75% but also the already existing railway connection of Kashghar with CARs will practically link Central Asia with Pakistani ports .. And It will not need to pass through Afghanistan ..

India can use Iranian ports, don't why they keep telling us benefits when they know very well that without resolving bilateral disputes it's not possible no matter how beneficial it is - If the matters are resolved with a win-win solution than ties can be as strong as US-Canda.
