East Bengal was there till 1905 Bengal division. In 1947 it was first called East Bengal and then East Pakistan and since 1971 the name changes to Bangladesh, get it? And the dirty hand in the cookie jar was there soon after 1947, hence the usage of the old name. Hope that clears the delusion and confusion.

USA choosing India as its strategic partner to contain China will be a negative development in the region.

USA is a declining power. It had extremely stupid foreign policy in the last few decades. I would not be surprised to see them making another mistake. If USA/West goes down and become second world countries, where will the Jewish people go next, India?

The world is increasing becoming bipolar again and US is sparing no effort to get as many countries on her side as she can, especially the ones in China's neighborhood. Only a handful of countries can stay neutral and BD is not powerful enough to be one of them, I said this in some other thread, saying it again, eventually BD will be forced to take a side.

You are wrong, bi-polar world order has long gone. Everything will revolve around on issues basis in the years to come. On some issues USA will ask BD to take a side, in some other issues China will ask BD to take side. BD will decide on the merit of the issues. USA or China all will understand that.

Well I know that, that's why I said it's in the process of becoming one, with China taking the place of erstwhile USSR. After the dissolution of USSR, US have had a free run as the sole superpower for more than 20 years, but let's face it, China will be a major threat to that crown in the coming years and US won't let it slip away that easily. That's of course my perception, you are free to have yours.

USA is never a friend of any country. Any country claiming to be "friend" of USA or China or Ruskies is just an ally. That's all. Powers that are big or small do not keep friends, just allies.

BDesh will be wise to view its ties with USA from purely bilateral POV. No need to make it more complicated than what it is.

India may be a close ally now, but it will be wise to learn from our experience, the closeness comes at a price. As long as you are willing to pay the price, you are an ally.
