The Galaxy Note 7 is dead. Samsung ends production after issuing worldwide recall

a huge setback for samsung.my friends work in samsung middle east distribution company, they said that this year forcast was that for the firdt time they would beat apple in in all products including the flagship models which was expectedly iphone7 hence came the idea to name it note 7.this thing was truely a disaster if not less

Samsung game is over , the future competition is Google Pixel vs Iphone , Samsung is no longer a hot set in demand

Samsung Game Over? No surely Samsung has earned the bad reputation in this but there are still galaxy S7 and s7 edge which are by any means leads the top premium phone untill Google pixel came. Google pixel is just going to eat the market share of samsung. Ultimately Apple is gonna get all the benefits, Customers are going to be happy. I am expecting a price cut fors7 and s7 edge in december:cheers:. Till samsung s8 comes out its gonna be hard time for everyone

Samsung to Permanently Discontinue Galaxy Note 7 Smartphone

Move halts production and sale of defective premium phone; investors digest possibility smartphone giant could abandon Galaxy Note series

SEOUL— Samsung Electronics Co. said on Tuesday that it is discontinuing its embattled Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, pulling the plug on a product whose botched recall has brought headaches to consumers and damaged the Samsung brand.

Samsung said in a filing with South Korean regulators that it would permanently cease production and sales of the device, following a string of reported incidents in which supposedly safe replacements of the smartphone overheated and in some cases caught fire.

“Taking our customer’s safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of the Galaxy Note 7,” the company said.

just Sad News :( My note 7 even the older one and new one has no problem

Compared to 5s, it's better and faster.

In review it's said that iPhone SE is for one hand users who like to use phone with one hand and it nearly got every thing which iphone 6S has but in 5S body and display.

How in the world are these supposed to be disposed of safely? And where? No airline is going to dare fly a container of these dangerous defectives back to Korea. Nor, I guess, will the shipping companies. And the usual cellphone recyclers might not be so eager to touch this product.

Samsung soon will lose its market no one is forever NOKIA died time for Samsung their irrelevant behavior with customers lead to their destruction

Nokia is coming back with Android, check Nokia C1.

The folks saying this is the end of Samsung -- get a grip -- it's not Samsung's end --- not by a LONG SHOT. I'm not speaking as a loyal Samsung customer, in fact I'm speaking as someone who made the mistake of buying a Samsung Ci5 notebook back in the day and well, I've decided never to buy Samsung ANYTHING unless the product offers something truly mind boggling.

Now coming to the point, this will definitely hurt Samsung, and Apple will enjoy an advantage for 1-3 years over Samsung after this. But make no mistake about it, this will most likely be spun in to a marketing campaign for something reflecting the "rise of the phoenix from the ashes" or how the company "cares & values its loyal customers that it completely recalled all the production" -- Yeah campaigns like that will run and most likely will bring customers to the markets with their money. What remains to be seen are two things ..

-How much customer trust has been lost by Samsung ?
-How much does Apple gain in the mean time while it's operating with it's rival on it's toes and without a new flagship product ?

BTW, my opinion --- If it's REALLY your NEED or/and your a tech enthusiast, only then should you go for such high-end devices. It's almost a culture now, where the type of mobile phone you carry determines your place in the social ladder. Refuse to be the part of that game.

BTW I'm an owner of a Sony Xperia Acro S which I believe was the "test bed" per say for what became the Xperia Z.I've extracted 4-5 years out of it, and I've only had to take it to the market once for a minor software glitch. It's still going strong and I might still get 2-3 years more out of it ....As far as I'm concerned .... the next time I'm going shopping ... I'm hunting for a Sony ...
