The first Asian-born athlete to make the final of IAAF World Championships

. . . . . .
With just two days of competition, China already surpassed its medal haul during the last edition of the athletics championships. China's two silvers are courtesy of Wang Zhen for Men's 20 kilometers walk and Gong Lijiao for the women's shot put. :yahoo:

Wangzhen said he was a little disappointed not having won a gold on his own turf.
Let's wait to see his performance in Rio.

. .
He was leading and choked in the last 1% of the race.

He didn't win silver, he lost gold.

I saw the race. And it was not him who choked. It was the Spaniard who showed exceptional fighting spirit and caught up.

But I would agree. He didn't win silver, he lost gold.

i believe in racial realism.
There will be more Su in China and I believe it won't be news if more Chinese can make to final.
But apparently, you can't find all top3 of a championship are Chinese or East Asians.

Yes it's realism that blacks perform in track & field, track in particular. The blacks might have less performance in academics/education/mathematics, but sure they are well built for this sports.

Unlike say aquatics where Chinese perform well (check 2015 Kazan, China is world #1 in medal count), Chinese wouldn't be able to compete with blacks in track & field. Since China doesn't allow immigration, countries of blacks (& black immigrants) will dominate this sports, though Chinese are getting better results every year compared to other non-black countries.

I don't agree with immigration though, the social price is too high in exchange for just a few medals. Just let ethnic Chinese continue to improve sports results in a natural manner.

I was hoping Su can break his best @9:99
HIs final was way under-achieved @ over 10 sec ( @10:06)

In the final 100m race, he was way behind the world's best in Bolt, the winner of the event (@9.79) almost without sweating, Gatlin @9.80 for a silver and a tie for the bronze between Trayvon Bromell (USA) and Andre De Grasse of Canada @9:92

A long way to go for Su but dont give up!

Go China!

Thanks for the info. but jimmy vicaut is hard to be classified as non-black, at least he is mixed, with black ancestors.

Jeez! Look at the upper leg muscles (Vastus Mediatis and Lateralis) of the French man. Awesome.

I don't think he will win a medal in the final.
His only rival should be himself, to improve his personal record.
Good luck with him, best wishes to all athletes in Beijing.

Now 9.99, next 9.89. Nutrition, training and more training. Add oil.
