At least one person was killed and 30 injured in a blast outside a police building Friday in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir, the center of the Kurdish minority, medical sources told AFP.

The local governor`s office said in a statement that the cause of the blast "seems to be a car bomb used by members of the separatist terrorist organisation", a reference to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers` Party (PKK).

Both civilians and police were killed and many people were wounded in a car bomb attack in Turkey`s southeastern city of Diyarbakir on Friday, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said in a speech.

Two local residents told AFP they had seen a minibus explode outside the police building in the Baglar district.

'Your' problem is not the Kurds, but the hdp/pkk/ypg, which is a tool of the US and some EU countries. *spoiler alert* non-pkk Kurds (majority) will most probably not riot as they suffered the most from the pkk If the pkk/hdp/ypg was not in 'your' interest, your officials wouldn't say anything. Anyway, anyone from our country who is deeply loved and protected by the US and EU is most probably a pawn of them, so Germany should keep housing all the pkk, feto, dhkp-c and other trash.

It's amusing that all our good friends in EU and US are supporting us so much on every single event against terrorism.

I'd love to see how they'd feel if Turkey deliberately supported terrorists in EU and US.

Didn't they both claim it? It could be ISIS trying to take advantage of inner termoil, especially after that bastard leader of theirs told them to attack inside Turkey. Keep in mind they also claimed they killed the civilian fire chief of Incirlik (American) but nothing came of it.

CAIRO: Islamic State claimed responsibility for a car bomb in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir on Friday that killed eight people and wounded more than 100, the group`s Amaq news agency said.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said earlier on Friday that Kurdish militants were responsible for the attack, and that one suspected member of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) was also killed in the blast.

Turkish police detained 15 suspects in an operation involving raids across the southeastern province of Adana targeting the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group, the state-run Anadolu Agency said on Sunday.

The raids come as fighting between security forces and PKK militants in the largely Kurdish southeast has escalated to new heights since the collapse of a 2-1/2-year ceasefire between the state and the militant group in July of last year.

On Friday, a car bomb in the mainly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir killed 11 people and wounded at least 100, hours after Turkish authorities detained the leaders and lawmaker of the main pro-Kurdish opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), whom the government accuses of links to the PKK.

Officials blamed PKK, citing radio intercepts, although Islamic State also claimed responsibility for the attack, according to the group's Amaq news agency. Kurdish militants, Islamic State radicals and far leftists have all staged attacks on civilians in Turkey in recent years.

Anadolu said the anti-terror police raids, backed by helicopter, were carried out simultaneously at various spots across the city.

In security operations over the past week, 28 PKK militants were "neutralized", the Interior Ministry said on Monday.

More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict since the PKK took up arms in 1984. It is considered a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

Turkish authorities briefly barred cars from entering and leaving Istanbul's main Ataturk Airport on Sunday after police fired shots when a motorcycle refused an order to stop, CNN Turk said.

One of two men aboard the motorcycle was wounded and detained and the second was apprehended by police after a pursuit, the private broadcaster reported. No police or civilians were reported hurt.

In June, suicide bombers suspected of belonging to Islamic State killed 41 people and wounded some 240 others with gunfire and explosives at the airport.


The latest incident did not affect flights at Ataturk, Europe's third-busiest airport, the channel reported. Ataturk is the hub of state-run carrier Turkish Airlines.

It was not immediately clear why the police ordered the men to stop.

PKK is the one who claimed the official responsibility of the attack from their official website.

Who backs PKK . i mean from where they get weapons and intelligence etc ?
