The Fight against PKK Terrorism

So are you saying that the understanding of secularism of those who oppose the government is basically "**** all the religions" and their understanding of democracy is similar to anarchy, while AKPians are the beacon of democracy and a shining example tolerance?

Yes, thats pretty much what he thinks so :D there isn't a single bad feature they don't have, manipulation, propaganda, lying, bribery, discrimination, anything you can imagine, a shining example indeed :D

According to them, ban of headscarf is againts human rights(which I agree), but Atheists are useless trash and druggers, they can go to hell , imagine what kind of "secularism" and "democracy" they have in their mind.

PKK militants to lay down arms next year

Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 24

The leader of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan said the PKK militants will lay down their arms on May 15, 2015, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported Dec. 24.

Reportedly, Ocalan said that after the PKK militants lay down their arms, they will leave Turkey and move to the territory of Kurdish autonomy in northern Iraq.

Ocalan was arrested in Kenya Feb. 15, 1999 and handed over to Turkish authorities.

Initially he was sentenced to death. However the sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and claimed over 40,000 lives.

The UN and the EU listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.

The process of a democratic settlement of the Kurdish problem in Turkey kicked off in 2009, following which a part of the PKK militants left the country’s territory and moved to the neighboring Iraq.

Kurdish rebels threaten renewed violence in Turkey
December 24, 2014

ANKARA, Turkey — A Kurdish rebel commander has warned that fighting in Turkey’s southeast could resume by June if efforts to end a 30-year insurgency make no progress by then, news reports said Wednesday.

Murat Karayilan’s comments came days after Turkish and Kurdish officials declared a “new phase” in the peace process after widespread protests by Kurds in October had threatened to derail the talks.

Karayilan told Iraq-based Roj News that imprisoned Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan would be freed from prison by April and wiykd attend a congress of his Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, if the talks progress according to a plan drawn up by Ocalan himself. However, Karayilan threatened to resume hostilities before Turkey’s June elections if the government fails to advance the peace process by then. His comments were carried by Turkish and Kurdish media on Wednesday.

“If steps are not taken, we will start the war before the elections,” Karayilan was quoted as telling Roj News.

Turkish Deputy Prime Yalcin Akdogan responded on Wednesday, slamming Karayilan’s comments as “unreal, untimely, inopportune and provocative.”

Turkey began talking to Ocalan in 2012 with the aim of ending the conflict that has killed tens of thousands of people since 1984.

Ocalan declared a cease-fire in 2013 and ordered the PKK to withdraw fighters to bases in neighboring northern Iraq as part of the peace efforts. The cease-fire is still in place but the PKK halted the withdrawal a few months later, saying Turkey had not taken any steps to reciprocate.

Kurds accuse Turkey’s government of using the lull in fighting to its advantage during elections and of not taking any concrete steps to advance the peace process in return.

Ocalan has been serving a life-term in prison on an island south of Istanbul since 1999 but retains influence over his fighters.

It would be mind blowing to see that guy out of jail. They will make it look like they won the war or something.:undecided:

Until the June elections pass, I doubt we'll know for sure how much of the region government sold to Öcalan. They can't risk the public reaction before elections.

the pessimistic side in me says that pkk/bdp/hdp will keep demanding more and more while promising to lay down arms. After a while pkk will say this or that demand has not been fulfilled, it's the fault of the govt, blabla and they will resort to violence again while slowly gaining more and more concessions. Then there is also the speculation/theory that pkk's leadership in Iraq have a different agenda than that of apo.

That is also what they said last year. They said we are going to put down our arms and leave Turkey. They showed some videos of some of them walking in the mountains allegedly leaving Turkey. What has Turkey come down to where terrorists can walk in and out like it is some kind of whorehouse and making deals with bastards who will never keep their word anyway.

Dont forget the fact that they will have better weapons in the future.

PKK is nothing more than a mercenary(terrorists) crew doing the dirty work of our NATO ALLIES. the agenda is that there isn't a agenda they are guns for hire and will benefit from any situation which gives them more revenue. So when of our Nato allies or a specific country wants to hurt us they will just do it. and since they recruit their soldiers with some emotional ideological delusion they will recruit some fired up young lings and then use them as cannon fodder for their contractors.

The only way PKK will die is when they are unable to get free recruits.

one thing is certain. hdp and bdp certainly do not have good intentions for the whole of Turkey, their recent calls for riots says enough. It seems they are trying to win concessions and unscrew the system (allowing newruz without any Turkish flag, demanding apo's release which will be a big symbolic win for them if that happens etc.) to a point where their struggle will only gain more popularity. This is a make or break process for the govt, if they fail on this one i assume they can kiss the parliament goodbye and also i hope there wont ever be negotiations anymore.

We need to go ISIS on their *** like in the 90ies. Only language they understand. If our government legalizes terrorists. We will face bigger problems in the future. First of all what concessions can we make more, and secondly what guarantee can PKK they are not a state or something. They are a group of 5000 at max. Probably fewer now since a lot of them got wasted in the fight against ISIS.

@Hakan

If its happens, which looks like is going to happen seeing how bdsp/pkk reacts, they don't need to show it like they won the war, because they will won for real.

for example Greece's involvement is a fact. pkk's activities in Europe is also a fact, and imo the lack of serious co-op from certain EU countries could be counted as turning a blind eye towards pkk's activities. in that sense i agree with you, but afaik there isn't solid proof of nato countries supporting pkk, unless i missed something. In the bigger picture, it's well known pkk has been getting support from various countries, so we can safely assume that there will be countries against pkk's dissolution and encourage them, or a smaller would-be separate sect within pkk, to keep going.

The Only to win the Fight against PKK is to cut off Europe from Ressources they need like Oil, Gas, Phosphates etc. In this way we need to strength our influence in Central Asia, ME and North Africa ! If european Goverments do tolerate Activities of PKK close Organisation we can cut of them from Gas for example !

The transit of illelgal Migrants which want enter EU are going through Turkey, Tunisia, Libya and Morocco, so we need to Coordinate the Cooperation against illegal migrants with these Countries. The Fight against illegal Migration should be depend on Conditions !

When we do that, they will see it as siding with Russia and our balance will be heavily disturbed.
