The Father of America's Atomic Bomb & Bhagwat Geeta !

From a purely historical and literary perspective, I would advise all to read not just the Bhagavad Gita but also other religious texts like the Mahabharata and the Old and New Testaments. They make for great reading and provide better context into the situation at the time they were written. The Mahabharata especially is a great example of a book that explains the warrior spirit and the beauty in struggle. Again, this is not for the purposes of faith, but for the purpose of reading great material.

I have copies of the Holy Koran & Bible both ( both gifted to me on certain occasions ).
Im a Hindu Though.

Ancient weapons like Brahmastra is detailed in many Indian texts, they are not mythology but events that happened.
Simply said, a Brahmastra when fired at a place nothing grown for years on that land.... same like nukes today.
Please keep this thread wide open. I thoroughly enjoy reading this stuff. @Mangus Ortus Novem

I don’t mind this and like discussing the religious works such as the bhagavad gita, which is very interesting and goes into the morals of war, good v evil etc.

But please do not use words to insult religious works.
It is in relation to the thread, so hence not religious as per rules in my opinion.

How do you explain the 'magic' of the Ark or Elijah's chariot of flames?

Story of every bomb or weapon ever.
Indiana Jones movies taught me all I need to know about the Ark of the Covenant, devotees of Shiva, Nazis, Russians, the Holy Grail, Mesoamerica and camels.

I do not want to give nerds AI drones and helis.

They have too many grievances and enemies.

Movies are 99% Fiction. Indiana Jones is a work of 100% fiction.
Sadly, History is all about FACTs.

For me these ancient texts do not belong to any single religion... they are the treasure of all mankind.

This goes for Vedas, Geeta, Kuran and Bible.... they simply too great for only one religion...

Another interesting article about Bhagwad Geeta,

Einstein Mass Energy Equivalence (E = mc2) was first expressed in his paper Annus Mirabilis during 1905.

In physics, mass–energy equivalence is the concept that the mass of an object or system is a measure of its energy content.

A physical system has a property called energy and a corresponding property called mass; the two properties are equivalent in that they are always both present in the same (i.e. constant) proportion to one another.

The equivalence of energy E and mass m is reliant on the speed of light c and is described by the famous equation: E = mc2

bhūmir āpo ‘nalo vāyuḥ
khaḿ mano buddhir eva ca
ahańkāra itīyaḿ me
bhinnā prakṛtir aṣṭadhā || Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7, Verse 4

Translation : Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego—all together these eight constitute My separated material energies.

Thus, this mass–energy relation states that the universal proportionality factor between equivalent amounts of energy and mass is equal to the speed of light squared. This also serves to convert units of mass to units of energy, no matter what system of measurement units is used.

Krishna also stated in Gita that, Soul can neither be created nor destroyed. It just transfers from one body to another, that is from one form to another or one body to another.
Many years later, science said, Energy can neither be created or nor be destroyed it can only be changed from one form to another.

This proves that soul is nothing but energy.

nainam chindanti sastrani nainam dahati pavakah na cainam kledayanty apo na sosayati marutah
Translation : The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.
It just leaves old body and finds new body.

@waz I think you mistakenly saw my post as "insulting" and deleted it - it wasnt. Criticizing hate or injustice is not insult but justice. I criticize bhagavad geeta not in a childish way because it is hindu or indian. but because i have read it.

In that book - a prince and general called arjuna looses interest in war which will result in killing his own blood relatives and the only result is that he along with his brother get the kingdom. And the god in the book Krishna motivates arjuna with some really horrible reasons. One reason is that killing humans is OK because their soul lives forever. Another reason is that as a warrior arjuna duty is to fight and kill.

No other moral justification is offered. Krisha makes no cause of establishing justice(other than royal rules of throne ascensions), or offers no cause that can be intrepreted as fighting for a principle of greater good or alleviating human suffering.. According to him a prince job is to fight and kill like a robot because that is his duty - there is no grounding in a higher moral or greater good or allievation of suffering.

In addition to that the book propogates a racist view of human society divided in to castes and forbades women to marry outside of caste because that leads to "impurity".

You need to understand colonial europeans uncomfortable with christianity which taught them equality and told them humility that life is born in sin were very attracted to racist scriptures because of their potential to justify their racism and apartheid.

One of the best things about studying anything from an academic perspective is that you can put aside any biases or concerns about good or bad, and concentrate on what is being said, rather than on who is saying it and/or who is living his life by it. Objectivity is a gift from God.

No one is asking you to consider the books of Hindus as sources of guidance. Read them from an academic perspective and you will find much knowledge contained therein: not the kind of knowledge by which a Muslim should live his life, but the kind of knowledge that provides historical, cultural, and linguistic context. The Prophet (SAWW) himself knew all the laws contained within the Torah and the Injeel, and so did those of his emissaries who were sent to non-Muslims. If you seek to do dawah, then it is necessary for you to speak to non-Muslims in their own words. And besides, all knowledge is just knowledge: how you act upon it determines what is good or what is bad. "Seek knowledge from cradle to grave."

This is not a religious thread, just telling the science in it.

And i know both Quran and Hadees also have lots of knowledge in it, you can pls elaborate and i'll be very happy to read it.
Our mutual respect to others religion is what i want, and not to demean anyone.

I'll say again what i said above,
Geeta, Quran and Hadees do not belong to one religion. They are the books of entire humanity. Dont make these books smaller by allowing them only for one religion, they are far bigger than you and me.

Not Really. This Text TEACHES NOTHING ABOUT HINDUISM. 0%.
It ONLY Speaks about DUTY & DUTY Alone.
Hindu word was coined by Persians, some 1400 hundred years ago or less. Religion is not uttered forget even mentioning in Bhagavad-Gita, Vedas, Upanishads.
There are 700 verses in Bhagavad-Gita, 315 on philosophy,125 on science from atom to universe, 81 on mind, 51 on Yoga and Meditation.
Robert Oppenheimer knew Bhagavad-Gita in Sanskrit by heart at the age of 29. After successful atomic explosion on 16 July 1945, he quoted from Bhagavad-Gita, chapter 11 verse 32………
