German foreign minister Steinmeier and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Mogherini said yesterday that it was not and is not the EU wish to push russia into economic chaos.

The current events in russia reached an extreme level, that could be hard to control. The fear is, that Putin could fall and chaos breaks out.

Steinmeier said the dramatic fall in the rouble currency and falling energy prices had created an economic and financial crisis in Russia, which would affect the political landscape there.

China gives a **** about russia. Its just diplomacy. EU is chinas biggest trading parter. Russia is smaller in economy than netherlands alone.

PRC has its own agenda .After all they are in anti west alliance .Russia is also a neighbour of PRC and they already signed a 400billion $ deal with Russia .China dont want a pro western or a neutral leadership in Kremlin .
Russians are facing difficulties but they have resources and have resource hungry friends in Asia.

AFAIK EU conditions are also not that better.Both EU and China will loss if they confront each other.
And Russians are expanding their relation with entire Asians including Pakistan.
