The Economist: India China export growth rates

CD and his flamebaiting, bilalhaider and his new found knowledge of economics, sweet!

Ouch brother. :D

India doesn't strive to be great power, we just want to reach at our former status, i.e. contributing to one fourth of world economy; India has always been a self-contained country.

Even the sole superpower America does not make up 25% of the world GDP.

Yes we do feel jubilant at times, you wouldn't understand, we are from the country which had to sell her gold to feed her children, been through long way since then.

LOL, don't you know the history of China? Most of the past 200 years has been one tragedy after another.

Yes and our resident economist respond to my Hindu growth rate comment as 'Let's not talk about religion in economics thread'. :hitwall:

You were the one that talked about the Hindu growth rate in the other thread:

And india soon to be destined to fall to where they actually belong, damn curry munching slum dogs, how dare they achieve anything better than hindu growth rate!

Nothing. You have made a complete U turn and now trying to sound as though someone said US had anything to do with CAD. If you are wrong then accept it. From your memory you said it is 50% but then why did you write more than 60%. When presented with facts, you now seem to clutch straws.

Shifting the Goalpost is their favourite pastime.

Yes Bilal, and it's a term related to economics, nothing to do with Hinduism.

For India, which exports far less than China, it does.

You don't even know the 'abc' of economics, not even knowing how a CAD can benefit productivity. You probably don't even know the differences between real, nominal & PPP GDPs.

Let that frustraton out, Bilal. Purgatory is a boon.

Anyways, just so you could take home something useful from PDF today, let me give you an assignment.

Try comparing Oil import/total export ratio for India and China.

I'm not telling you coz I do not come here to spoon feed people.

I doubt you can find any other nation that has experienced more tragedy than we have over the past 200 years.

CD you forgot that 'peace Index' wiki link. ;)

that's something I don't agree.

the Subcontinent had suffered worse in the 300 years that UK fully enslaved us. The magnitude of people killed was undocumented.

this is why I am so upset that so many Indian members are defending the west, the UK and US. they are bowing to those who enslaved their ancestors. what a shame.

Well, if the number of people killed was undocumented, how could it be worse? The Imperial Japanese genocide (20-30 million casualties), the Great Leap forward (similar number), etc? Colonial wars, and the Chinese Civil War as well?

Anyway, it's too subjective to come up with a specific answer. But China was definitely one of the ones who suffered the most in the past 200 years.

You do realise that while our leaders were following the principles of NAM (however flawed it was) Jinnah saab was bending over backwards wooing the Americans. You do realise that it was Pakistan which willingly became a pawn of the West, to fight the 'evil' communists. You do realise that the Americans used to use your land to carry out their own agenda....

I can go on if you wish.

.
Anyways, it's indeed a matter of pride for Indians that their country is now being compared with China

...while some countries in the region get dumped with Afghanistan and other failed states ;)
