The delegation of Ulema E Karam calls on PM Imran Khan

.
Collectively the "Ulema E Karam" are the face of why Pakistani society is backward, primitive and why we can't make bridges, build motorways, build Su-35s, Hind helicopters, Agosta submarines etc. China, Russia, America do not have this curse. Neither does Turkey.

yes but that also has to do with the fked up system of this country!

Muslim Ulemas were a beacon of knowledge in the Muslim world but regressive power-hungry ulema of today only care about chanda and their madressas and not work for the betterment of Ummah and spread knowledge of Quran and sciences and they became tools of our "bhadur state" and lost their way

if only we need materials then they don't. but if trained properly, they can bring revolution in counselling, law practices, journalism, literature, foreign relations... etc

That's because in our society, the beacon of piety is being Hafiz-e-Quran, and such stuff.

It isn't bad, by all means it is good, and should be encouraged. But there should be a standard to become a religious leader, and being able to memorize the Holy Book shouldn't be that standard. Understanding of it, and being able to provide context for its context would be a better standard.

agree in past Maderssas were not limited to memorizing Quran but they also produced scholars (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scientists_in_medieval_Islamic_world)

Spiritually is a totally personal experience.

The ones who want to profit from it and are in the business of religion introduce rituals and red tape to increase their influence. They are a curse.

You can find everything you are seeking and more by looking inside of yourself. The truth is right in front of us. Try medidation and practising stillness in the prescence of God. It will give you sensations and feeling you will never experience through these fraudsters.

I used to get offended by posts like this, but then I realised their right (partly). These men do not fulfill the role of ulema. They have reduced our religion to a plaything for charlatans, ritual for rituals sake, a hollow vessel, where many of us are Muslims in name and in appearance, but often lack the fundmental knowledge of our faith.

Ulema are expected to have a substantial understanding, to be subject matter experts in Islam, to have a wider knowledge base and ability to think critically so they can give opinions on new matters. They're expected to have a leadership role and to set an example to follow. How many of our mullahs really do that? Few and far between.

The men who hold these roles are only partly to blame, the degradation has been happening for quite a while, the institutes to support their role are not in place, they can't be expected to operate in isolation to everything else.

If the vast majority of our ulema were well educated, brave, confident, critical thinkers with an intrinsic understanding of Islam and the mental capacity to understand other fields academically and provide purposeful insight when called upon - then they would not sit by and seek the crumbs off the table of our elite.

The real reason our country is where it is, is the ruling class. They contribute the most to our failures, more than any other 1 part. The so called Ulema are just another failing cog in the machine.

They need to experience ego death for that to happen. Ego death can only happen in the absence of greed. Ego death can happen either through organic hallucinogens like DMT or mushrooms but you will have to be aware of jinn manipulation to see the truth or do it the way God intended and that is to go into deep medidation regularly. If the ulema did this they would be changed men. Our minds are extremely powerful and right now these people have gold and glory on their minds. How sad, so close and yet so far.

Fazlur Rehman, Mufti Muneeb, Tariq Jameel, Tahir Ashrafi and many others are the favorites of the ruling elite and provide credence to the establishment and let it continue with its hypocritical rule

So going by your logic if they are responsible for everything then Pakistan made nukes because of them which no other Muslim country has been able to, Pakistan developed various ballistic and cruise missiles so those should also be attributed to them..

Concept wasnt wrong, the generation was wrong.

Back in the golden days it was because of people like these that the populus would be interested in science and exploration. Now they preach about halwa. Fix them and you're on your way to a new golden age of civilization.

And how is that...
Their lack of preaching what is actually important to the population. Sit all of them down, make them swear on the Quran and then ask them "how many times have you preached that terrorist groups like TTP are haram and against the teachings of Islam"

Then you'll understand what he and I mean.

all these imams must be registered with the state and then all must attend a re- eduation program and one circulium top bottom topology . State will decide what they will earn depending knowledge etc. Any charity they work for, the money must be declared to public.

Also a criminal record check and full accounts audit for money laundering.
