The "central" position of Pakistan

I heard Pakistan wanted to mediate talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, but was booted out by both the parties.
the prince who happens to be defence ministre as well asked pakistan i have discussed it another forum go read it their

The right questions should be
"Why should Pakistan be in the middle?" When none of the above will be in the middle if Pakistan is in trouble. Bottom line. Fend for yourself. Get away from any dispute which requires Pakistan to meddle in others problems.
like we did in yemen conflict

Our strategic position on the map may as well be something very cursed..

If US and Russia are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.
If Turkey and Russia are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.
If India and China are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.
If USA and China are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.
If Saudi and Iran are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.
If Afghanistan and Russian are having a problem - Pakistan will be in the Middle.

And at the same time we must keep good relations with all of the above!
In Short : That happens when one person instead of playing fare tries to ask for services of third party when due to its oun greed and recklessness it takes up a fight which it cant finish and to do that except every fair and unfair means of payback ....

I am sorry, but where does Pakistan come into the scene in any of the above mentioned conflicts, apart from Afghanistan? The last time I heard Pakistan wanted to mediate talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, but was booted out by both the parties.
I don't remember when was the last time Pakistan came in between Indo-China talks.
Similarly how is Pakistan affected with Russian, US/Turkey relations?

The only time Pakistan is mentioned in any world forum or summit, is when the issue of terrorism comes up. That's the only relevance Pakistan has in today's world.
1: Pakistan was not booted out by the parties; both welcomed Pakistan but only Saudi Arabia refused to open relations with Iran - looking at history; Pakistan has always been involved in Iranian and Saudi internal affairs. Pakistan provided covert support to Iran during Iran-Iraq war while Pakistan has also always supported Saudi Arabia in its conflicts. Both nations also have supportive relations with us as both supported Pakistan's claim to Kashmir and both have support Pakistan in conflicts with India by giving equipment, money, oil and refuge.

2: Pakistan was involved in many Chinese diplomatic affairs and was crucial in many of them - I dont know about Indo-China talks though.

3: Pakistan has always supported Turkey in almost every situation and mutually Turkey has done the same. During the Azerbaijan-Armenian/Russian war - Pakistan funneled hundreds to thousands of Islamic volunteers to fight off Armenian and Russian troops and to this day Pakistan refuses to open relations with Armenia.

Overall, Pakistan is relevant mostly in the middle east - whenever there is a conflict or a dispute; both parties look towards Pakistan to get involved or help mediate the conflict.

You cannot explain Indians some deep political info..they are always...super duper hyper powah India!
Regarding the recent Iran Saudi fiasco...Pakistan successfully mediated to de escalate tension..after visit by nawaz and raheel sharif the media became very much silenced on these matter...Even though Iran and Saudi did not restore diplomatic relations (that is their internal matter) Pakistan very much bought both parties to reality of massive potential economic losses by escalating tensions at a time when oil is going down...

What I learnt from business and trade or personal affairs is that no one respects a middleman...He gets treated like toilet paper in a conflict (clean the mess once the players are done)..OR, a tissue paper with which you clean the pen that you signed the peace accord with. .brokers are only worth their commissions...and the best broker is the one who shuts his trap after bringing the two interested parties on the table..
