I can understand. So, it is a totally personal choice. We can't feel the pain of the affectees. Hence, it depends on the victim family to protest, pick arms, be patient, be grateful, be sour, with respective consequences.

Though they had been freed from slavery, and frequent slaying of their children, still the advice was that they shouldn't be ungrateful (the atrocities they faced, still won't make them 'eligible' to argue Allah). I guess, it was revealed after Pharaoh was drowned, and they were lost in the desert. So, after seeing the miracle, at first place, they shouldn't have complained.

There is a documentary at work regarding 1971. It is an excellent piece of work, and likely to be released prior to Dec. I had the lucky chance of viewing a sneak peak and portions of it. Even I learned so much from that documentary. It will blow the socks off people when it gets released (it is a private effort, not an ISPR effort). Makes it look, sound and seem honest, and very different from the staple low budget stuff we get. The number of individual acts of bravery, selflessness, discipline, and bravery against massive odds. I am disappointed that Pakistan never bothered to tell this side of the story and let the others just paint a completely warped picture and narrative. It is a 4 or 5 part 50min each - so a very comprehensive capture of our history.

I wish I could give you guys a peak. But basically the docu looks at MR meeting during the 65' war with Indian intel/mil. It looks into the night in Mar - where PK mil took action on three spots and basically brought Dhaka under control (within 2 days), which till then had already become a jungle. It looks at the revolt of the EP Rifles and their killing of West Pakistani soldiers and their wives and children. The killing and massacre of West Pakistanis and their families - all of which happened before Operation SearchLight. Of how the GOP hid these massacres so as not to further inflame the situation, thereby allowing India and Bengalis to create a completely false narrative. It looks into the war, post war etc etc. It was riveting. I was at the edge of my seat - and the way they had done it was to get people who actually were there narrating what happened, supplemented with actual archives, maps, documents etc. The amount of data, videos etc they had was amazing. Like I said looked more a Ken Burns production than a Pakistani production.

Exactly we have been incompetent in communicating our narrative to the world and our own country as well, but when the Army does something in this regard through ISPR a group of jackasses begins to rant about the army singing songs and making drama serials. Bruh like which part of Inter-Services Public Relations you don't understand?

It is in Urdu with English subs. It is called "Jhara - Winds from the East" - I think Jhara is bangla for Storm.

BTW the myth was made by India. It was perpetuated by India. Bengalis became amplifiers. But the myth was totally an Indian fabrication.

ISPR productions are definitely great as well but they should be more focused on the domestic audience since it is easy for foreign critics to dismiss ISPR produced content as military propaganda. Ideally PTV or private media houses should officially be producing such content albeit with ISPR support.

Soviet Union had its role in 71 war but I can't say that they had any particular role in this narrative as I have not read any source specifically indicating about this.

But as we know KGB had a propagada wing as well therefore I would not be surprised if what you are saying specifically about narrative building related to East Pakistan is true.
