My 2 cents: NFAK is up there, among the all time greats; because he mastered the original idiom and dared to experiment as well. Though; imho, he did not pull off all his experiments well. The dividing line between 'fusion' and 'confusion' is extremely delicate and difficult when working with radically different musical genres and final results can be rather indeterminate.
That said it takes great confidence to experiment the way that he did.
One thing else, imho; the title of the thread seems rather strident in its tone.

There are only a few people for whom you can adopt such a definitive tone, and hence I did it.
