The Balkans and Turkey- News and Discussions

Great thread! For some of the members on this forum that are not familiar with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) or simply Bosnia here is a quick intro.

Bosnia is a multi-ethnic nation with three constituent peoples. The Bosniaks (50%) Bosnian Serbs (32%) Bosnian Croats (14%) Others (4-5%). It is made up of two political entities, the Federation of BIH (Bosniak-Croat joint Entity) and the Republika Srpska (serb region with 84% Serb population and 13% Bosniak). In the FBIH, 73% of the population is Bosniak and they primarily dominate this entity in many areas, the Croats are seeing a massive demographic decline, and many are moving out of BIH at an alarming rate. The Bosnian Croats want their own entity (similar to what serbs have), but the Bosniaks won't allow it and will veto any such attempt because it goes against the peace agreement and the constitution. With time, the FBIH entity will simply be a Bosniak entity. Additionally, there is the District of Brcko, a small enclave in northern Bosnia which separates Republika Srpka into two areas (this is strategically important in case of any future conflicts).

Everything in the country is done based on consensus among the three constituent peoples. This means, that if any side tries to do something that would violate the other's "national interest" then the other constituent peoples have the option to veto it. Therefore, the direct influence of Belgrade and or Zagreb is limited, because it would simply be vetoed by Bosniaks and or Serbs/Croats (vice vers). However, Serbian and Croatian soft power is influential. The three constituent peoples do agree on many common things, and things are moving forward but at a slower rate than in other countries.

With this being said, Bosnia is currently making efforts to join the EU (all three peoples are working together towards this goal), and it is making efforts to join NATO (Bosnia is official in the MAP process), however Bosnian Serbs are against this. Nonetheless, Bosnia did achieve the MAP process and it has carried out numerous reforms in the military (which is joint). Today, Bosnian soldiers are deployed from Africa to Afghanistan, partake in numerous exercises with NATO countries, etc.

At the end of the day, the shooting stopped in 1995, but the silent war continues. Bosniaks have achieved a lot, but it is very difficult when your squeezed between Croatia and Serbia, both of whom have their people living in Bosnia in large numbers. Sometimes, I can't believe that Bosnia even survived. Not bad for 2 million Bosniaks. The ultimate goal was to preserve the Bosnian nation, which was achieved and now we are using the tactic of time to simply become the absolute majority and or take advantage of opportunities to further integrate the nation.

I want to point out, there are over 2,000 different ethnic groups on this planet and only roughly 200 countries. Bosniaks managed to achieve their motherland, even though injured, it survived the rest is time.

The serb region in Bosnia has local autonomy, however they have no passports, money, armed forces, border police, etc. All of that is conducted by Bosnian state institutions where Bosniaks typically hold key positions along with Serbs and Croats and this is the level where strategic politics have to be played and strategic consensus has to be established. Ultimately Bosnia is moving forward slowly but surely.

Bosniaks should kick the serbs and croats out of the country.

Dont keep these treasonous bastards in after what they have done to your people. These people at a heart beat would go and break Bosnia apart.

Croats and Serbs murdered Bosniaks. Never forget and never forgive. Turkey has to bring lots of support to the Bosniaks.

We cant let another sebrenica happen on our watch again.

Trust me there is a lot of frustration, but no one needs another war.

In the last 15 years, Turkey has really stepped up support for Bosnia. We know you will have our back or atleast the Tr airforce does- check the video out ;)

Also- there are estimates and studies that claim that there is 4 million Bosniaks who love in Turkey. Today, they are proud Turks, but can trace their roots back to Bosnia.

The last population registry had a lot of errors

there actually around 54 % Bosniaks in Bosnia. Yes I am aware that is not a significant increase but in the grand scheme of things it is as Serbs/Croats are adamant that Bosniaks do not register more than 50% of the population for their own strategic reasons.

Strategic goal of Bosniaks for the next decade should be that the population is at least 67% of the country and to military secure vital mountains, crossroads, towns and vantage points in order to exercise more control of the country.

At least 75% of the country should be controlled by Bosniak military, police and legal code. If It was up to me I would launch a preemptive strike if the security situation in the region starts to deteriorate. Bosnia is made up of such mountainous geography that whoever strikes first get's the upper hand in any regional military conflict.

The Dutch soldiers didn't mind, some mooslems being killed can't hurt nobody.

However the way things look like they're going, in due time the bastards in western governments will have to include more and more of our likes. heh.

I watched an interview of some Bulgarian guy who fought on the Serbian side during the war. He claimed that he was a sniper and at first was a mercenary who was paid like 2000+ Deutsche marks a month. Later on he joined Arkan’s Tigers as a volunteer for like 40€ of today’s money.
First we was sent to Sarajevo which he says that it was a very beautiful city- nice new buildings, boulevards etc which I guess is normal as it hosted the Winter Olympics years before that. He basically said that he saw how the city was destroyed a block after another. He didn’t say how many people he killed but he said that he never killed innocent people... which is hard to believe knowing how barbaric the Serbs were in the Sarajevo siege.

The most interesting part to me was that he claimed that the worst scum in the war was... the “Dutch degenerate junkies” from the UN Blue Helmets who were not only raping, beating and doing all kinds of atrocities but were even making money out of the donations for the civilians.
For the Muslim side he didn’t talk much but said that the forces of the foreign mujahideen were very well trained and prepared.

This is true but we shouldn't forget that the Bosniak population doesn't have a high fertility rate contrary to what some people might think.
Tbh, it's the Croatian state policy which is causing the decline in Catholic numbers. Every Catholic Bosnian is entitled to a Croatian passport which is also a EU passport. Bosnian Croats are leaving the country for Western Europe en masse and Croatian politicians simply don't care.

Btw, Macedonians are pretty much doing the same with the Bulgarian passport.

In Bulgaria things are heating up and wonder if in Turkey you guys even hear about it or if the Turkish State follows the situation as many here talk about a potential ethnic conflict.

Last night there we big anti- government (and smaller pro- government) protests. The President Rumen Radev and some opposition parties (most of them pro Russian commies/nationalists) + a lot of people without party affiliations try to take down the Prime Minister who is part of the coalition of the ruling party GERB and the United Patriots (a coalition of Nationalists). They accuse him of being in a hidden coalition with the main party of the Muslims/Turks in Bulgaria lead by Ahmed Dogan- the guy who is accused by all as being the hidden puppet master who pulls the strings in the whole country. :D

Ahmet Dogan’s party DPS has constantly been one of the biggest parties in the country with whole regions of the country controlled by it. It has huge financial backing and represents some strong economic circles plus it has strong positions in many institutions. Dogan is presented to all as being controlled by Turkey but in reality is an ex Communist snitch with strong connections to the Kremlin and of course with backing in Turkey among the Bulgarian Turks there.

There is another Turkish party in Bulgaria that won 3% on last elections and it is named DOST which is absolutely connected to AKP. There are also some other politicians like Kasim Dal and Korman Ismailov that are connected only to Turkey too. Them together with DOST members are all ex members of DPS.

There is so much to write about the whole political situation and history here after the fall of Communism but it will take me hours to write it down.

Ahmet Doğan could be hanged publicly for all I care. He's personality is made of greed, betrayal and vanity. He did more harm to the Turkish movement in Bulgaria than the fascists wannabe Russians in Sofia.

Just bear in mind that Erdoğan refused to meet him in person during his visit to Bulgaria.

Doğan is a disgusting piece of $hit.

I don’t expect anyone other than Turkey to help bosniak turks. Not even other turkic nations. Perhaps Azerbaijan though, but the help needs to be planned and done to improve and strengthen bosniak turks presence in the region.

Bosnia Medics Help Serbian Region Handle Fresh COVID-19 Crisis

After at first dismissing the offer as insulting, Serbia has allowed a team of medical experts from Bosnia to help the mainly Bosniak Sandzak region of Serbia deal with a fresh eruption of coronavirus cases.

A team of 15 doctors and other medical personnel from Tuzla and Sarajevo in Bosnia left for the town of Novi Pazar in southwest Serbia on Friday to help colleagues deal with a fresh outbreak of the coronavirus, which has claimed dozens of lives in the mainly Bosniak region of Sandzak in the last few weeks.

As the team was on its way to Serbia, Novi Pazar hospital coordinator Mirsad Đerlek told the media that 10 people had died overnight – all of them over 75 years of age – and that 290 remained in hospital after 80 were released as recovered. On Thursday, officials reported 266 new cases in Serbia and 11 deaths, with 3,339 active cases and 120 people on respirators.

The team is expected to stay in Serbia for two weeks. It consists of six doctors from the Sarajevo University Clinical Centre, lead by the head of the Anesthesiology Clinic Rusmir Baljic, three doctors and three medical technicians from the Tuzla University Clinical Centre, led by the Surgery Clinic head Zijah Rifetbegovic, and the head and two medical technicians from Sarajevo’s emergency services centre.

The worrying situation in the Sandzak region, where many people have strong links to Bosniaks in Bosnia, where many of them move to study and live, has caused a wave of sympathy in Bosnia and led to calls for the authorities to offer help.

“The situation in Sandzak is alarming and we have decided to help colleagues in Novi Pazar because our initial experience in dealing with the coronavirus in all medical branches has proved very good,” Rifatbegovic was quoted as saying before his team set off.

“Our professional maturity is such that we can give ourselves the right to help those that need it the most in these moments,” he added.

The Sandzak region was hard hit in the second half of June with a sudden rise in the number of coronavirus infections. The Serbian government was strongly criticised by officials, doctors and the local population there for what they said was its inadequate support for hospitals and other health institutions in Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar were confronted by dozens of angry protesters when they visited Novi Pazar on June 30 but denied that local medical services in the area lacked essential supplies and protective equipment.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at first rejected and ridiculed offers of help from Bosnia, which he called “insulting”, but then bowed to pressure and gave the go-ahead.

In the meantime, the Serbian government has increased its own medical help for Sandzak and a military field hospital has been set up in Novi Pazar.

Albanian Parliament, financial and military cooperation agreement signed with Turkey and the protocol was approved the application for financial aid. The protocol will facilitate financial assistance for the development of the defense industry relations between Turkey and Albania. Albanians want to modernize their armies with Turkish defense companies.
