The ambitious United Arab Emirates

. .
LOL, why should Arabs not have business ties with Greece, Cyprus and other nations that are located in our backyard? They are not hostile any longer. Not since the Byzantine Empire that we defeated anyway. That was ages ago.
We already do business with them and several Arab countries have already invested money in those countries and go there for holiday.

Greece and Cyprus are probably the most culturally similar nations in Europe to the Arab world along with Spain, Portugal, Malta (obvious one) and Southern Italy, in particular Sicily.

Besides I like Greek food which has quite a few similarities with Arab cuisine btw.

UAE's rulers deserve praise for what they have done with the UAE. I have talked about this a few times before so I don't want to write a novel why their achievements are impressive or a novel about the history of the UAE (modern as well as ancient one).

.
Believe it or not, for some warmongering members on this forum, it's not that obvious. >_<

I want names. Who are these members?

When did you defeat the Byzantine Empire?

Tell me what does Greece and Cyprus share with the other world?

Gyros, Moussaka and yogurt? it's all Turkish to me.

Ancient Greece and numerous ancient civilizations native to the the Arab world have had very old contacts.

Arabs also helped preserve Greek knowledge that was lost and translated Greek works into Arabic later for them to experience an renaissance.

In pre-Islamic times Greek served as a third or second language in many areas of the Arab world including even parts of modern-day KSA (Hijaz).

Most Greeks belong to haplogroups that originate in the Arab world and which are shared by Arabs and other Middle Easterners.

In general there were quite a few mutual influences.

As for the cuisine, Greeks probably might beg to differ but I have tasted Greek cuisine and many of the dishes had a similarity. Similar herbs were used too.

Greeks also eat hummus (Arabic dish) which came as a surprise to me.

When it comes to geography Cyprus is closer to Arab countries such as Lebanon and Syria (geographically) than it is to any other landmass.

Anyway business is business and I have nothing against Greeks personally. It is a beautiful country with a proud history. This is undeniable. Greek-Turkish hostilities have nothing to do with Arabs. We should be neutral in this regard which we also are although countries such as Egypt seem to have a closer relationship with Greece than other Arab nations. They even do military exercises together.

Anyway since Greece is bankrupt foreign investments from Arabs can become profitable if infested correctly.

P.S. Did I mention that Arab Christians are particular close to Greece? Well, now I have.

Maybe @Kuwaiti Girl can add something more.

I don't engage in troll discussions. My sources speak for themselves which I am sure that you did not even take a look at hence the nature of your reply. I am neither interested in empty claims that are not backed up by anything. Similar to me saying that I can assure you that the moon is made up of cheese.

Anyway this thread is about UAE and Arabs will continue to do business with Greeks as well, lol. As we have done for millennia.
