What does Communism have to do with top 5, top 10, and top 20?

I don't have to live by the rules of your Caste-regime either, with a White European sitting on the top (Sonia) while the Dalits sit at the bottom.

Your misconceptions about India is amusing.

Plus not as bad how minorities and muslims are treated in China, also lets not forget tiananmen square incident.

Even according to Western sources, the 1989 Tiananmen incident resulted in the deaths of a few hundred people.

Whereas the 1984 Sikh massacre resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Sikh men women and children.

Global Firepower - 2012 World Military Strength Ranking

You always divert the topic in discussion.......you got talent man......

Iran increased their budget by 127% for 2012, so I think we might be in top ten now

Also, Iran has a 'Will Power' to become a Global Power which we find is lacked in Indians, mainly in NRIs, by a big margin. Iran is comparatively a small country than US, EU, China, India, Russia but Iran always try to develop defence arms by themselves. In fact Iran's economy is as big that Iran must be included in G20, I sincerely believe. but look on Indians of 3rd largest economy on PPP with having 3rd largest defense expenditure on PPP, even if they get the best arms of Russia with full technology transfer, whether its russian best aircraft SU30mki, their best T90 tanks, full support in missile defense with having all the key missiles and missile defence of Russia through hidden deals, like recent supply of Russian deadliest Nuclear Submarine Akula-2 which was also a 'secret deal', full support in Naval ship build up including AC, Frigates/ Destroyers etc. but you will still find Indians always being threatened from China and look on US/West for help against China :hang2:

there is no country of the world whose nationals are as Insecured for their security as Indians, mainly NRIs. Iran has a Will Power to become a Global Power but Indian mainly proud on their strength over Pakistan and are always threatened with China, and hopefully they will remain like this forever :hang2:

Met there is a difference between wishing and attaining. From what I can see there is no way India won't become a major world player but it will happen gradually and peacefully whereas other wannabes have to force themselves onto the world stge to try and make them think they are world players when they really aren't.

Iran is not wanabe, we were the first superpower on this planet and were superpower many times.
Iran is a regional power in a regional who can turn the world upside down if it wanted.

What the reason for your opinion? We are peace loving country and our armed forces are for defensive purpose.

Where did you got the news that China has threatened India. Don't go by the posts of PDF members.

woow.. u have more budget than pakistan which is 'surrounded by foes from all sides' ;)

we are clever enough to develop nukes much before the time so that we can chill and relax and spend rest of our days in retirement

Whoa, iran is getting a little big for its boots. Iran is a regional player I agree but beyond that it is nothing more than a problem (because of nuke program) and a oil supplier who likes to meddle in the region for her own gains ie Iraq. We seem to play fast and loose with the term superpower thee days and Iran certainly isn't and will not be for the foreseeable futre.

On the Indian Defence budget by PPP thing............I don't think it accounts much for India, cause India is an importer primarily, as far as acquisitions are concerned..........
So if we take 80% of the nominal budget for acquisitions and upgradations, it totals up to $28.8 billion...........considering that 30% of sourcing is domestic, that means only 30% of $28.8 billion will be actually worth the dollars in PPP.........the ratio is 3.1:1 for nominal to PPP................
Thus effectively the budget will only be around $52 billion...:azn:
$ 36 billion is undervalued and $112 billion is overvalued..........cause not everything is imported and not everything is domestically sourced..........
However as the focus moves towards ToT , and domestic production expect the "real" budget to increase..........
