Thank you China, Vietnam is about to get her first metro in Hanoi

There are too many low quality forumers in PDF, who cannot win a debate, but rather prefer to use insult and to discuss on false flag.

Another ungrateful. Why didnt you present the project cost by Japanese and French? Somehow they are not considered loanshark while Chinese project for Vietnam is?
You expect “thank you” when you increase the cost twice and the rail isn’t complete after 5 years delay? What a logic! Man we are not Japanese that bow down to customers as soon as they enter the shops.

Pls don’t mention the other foreigners. I expect you as Chinese with 3,000 years civilization to be better than the Japanese or the French. I am very disappointed.

Did you read the news? Your government and bank failed to release money. It takes two hands to clap. Blame yourself for delay of payment. Nobody owes you a living....

China was the latest comer of Vietnam metro system, behind Japan and French. China managed to deliver a metro system earliest.

As for the financing and project cost, I would describe it as China "foreign aid" to Vietnam.

The metro is mostly completed. We can only guess why China want to delay the operation. Payment could be a reason.

The 13.1-km line, invested by Ministry of Transport (MoT), was started on 10/10/2011 and is expected to be completed on 30/09/2017 and commercialized in Q1/2018.

The line is the third in the metro plan of Hanoi, and the second of out of 8 lines to be proposed after the Yen Vien - Ngoc Hoi. Its budget is from Chinese ODA, signed in 2008.

Nonsense why thank China? Is it free? No it costs nearly $1 billion for a ridiculous short rail track. Is it quickly realized? No it is 5 years behind schedule.

In short the work carried out by Chinese contractors sucks.

That is lesson. We are new to large scale investment in subways and urban railways hence not only the Chinese but the Koreans, the Japanese all tend to rob Vietnam.

Viet, nothing is free, but the project is built with Chinese money. And it is 5 years behind schedule is because of Vietnam's poor planning, site clearance and lack of fund, not because of the Chinese contractor.

Compared with other metro projects in Hanoi (e.g. Nhon - Ga Ha Nội, which at least 10 years behind schedule) and Ho Chi Minh city (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, which may be ~ 10 years behind schedule as well), this project is the best metro project in Vietnam.

We cannot say the work by Chinese contractors sucks. All accidents in this project were done by Vietnamese sub-contractors. And accidents have happened in all other projects as well,

So far, the deadliest accident in modern Vietnam construction history is in Can Tho bridge construction project, which killed 57 workers. The project was executed by a Japanese contractor. (Not to mention that number of projects by Chinese contractors is far higher than by Japanese contractors).

.
The mistrust in China is obvious when the first and second metro system is given to French and Japan (It is not unreasonable to hypothesize China had bid with the most favorable terms).

The French is the earliest bird in Vietnam metro.

The French 12.5 km Hanoi Line 3 cost a whopping USD 1.7 billion till date, with no sight of ending, due to delay.

China 13 km Line 2A is USD 870 million.

We will never give you anything free, you know the reason.

ha ha why? because we refused to give the south china sea to you?

bro the project management lies in the hand of a chinese company, all major works including delivery of trains and laying tracks are carried out by chinese companies as well. ok site clearance is a hinderance but should not increase the cost twice. the main reason for delays are cost overun hence there are more money needed that should be provided by chinese banks. however Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank) delayed payment until recently. now everything is cleared we can expect the operations by next September.

I haven´t said japanese and french projects are better managed. I bet we will carry out next urban rails and subways by ourselves once have learned and mastered the technolgy. cheaper and faster.

1.Business is business. no need to Thank.
2.Compared to the French and Japs, Chinese companies need to raise the price. It is so stupid to give 50% price of French, at least 90% of the French or even more than the French, because we can finish the project MUCH FASTER.

China started building Hanoi Line 2A as late as 2011, and completed everything in 2018.

Dong said that the plan will be organised based on equipment and trains received, which is influenced by disbursement from China’s Eximbank.

“The Ministry of Justice and relevant ministries are completing procedures to put forth the disbursement”, Dong said.

As of November 24, five out of 13 trains for the railway had been delivered to Hanoi.

The 13 kilometre elevated railway project began in 2011 with investment of 552 million USD. However, in November 2014, it was announced the project would need a total of 868 million USD, 300 million USD more than initial estimates.

In total, the project includes 12 stations and a depot in Phu Luong ward, Ha Dong district.

Constructed by the China Railway Sixth Group Co., Ltd, the line is set to have capacity to operate 13 trains with carrier frequency of every two minutes and a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour.-VNA

80%is reasonable

Oh, disappoints Americans.

Why couldn't we destroy whole Vietnamese folks? We used booby dolls to hunt their kids, disable them, kill as many as we can with chemical-unconventional weapons, to make them forever slaves.

@Solomon2 Why dude? :)

Construction of subways is much more complex and costly because you drill under earth surface. We let the foreigners build the first lines and we will copy the technology.

Only 30% of 12.5 km Hanoi Line 3 is underground. The cost overrun is already substantial.

The final cost will be way above USD 1.7 billion.

The French promised to deliver on 2015 initially. Estimated the job is around 40% complete. Now French are saying delivered by 2021. 2025 is more reasonable.
