Thai police seize North Korean aircraft carrying 40 tons of heavy weapons

Looks like the weapons were intended for Pakistan.

It is good to fight terrorists, but why is it necessary to buy heavy weapons from rogue regimes in violation of UN resolutions?

But Pakistan has always obfuscated it's bolstering of eastern border in the name of war against terrorism - looks like that war is what brings in the moolah, and the one, undeclared, against the eastern neighbor is what it is spent on.

I couldn't understand one thing. The article says that the plane's refueling location was Sri Lanka before it was changed. So does this means that Sri Lanka won't check the planes contents or Sri Lanks already know whats inside or may be the destination was indeed Sri Lanka.

I love how you drew out the entire situation using simply the last sentence of the article. Everything Pakistan does is anti-India right? Heck, next time a Pakistani breathes, you'll post "Pakistan illegally hijacks Indian oxygen and fills Indian air with Carbon Dioxide".

Get a grip, buddy. This may have been heading here, or it may not have. Even if it did, we, as you know, are in quite a bit of need of armament at the moment. If we can't fulfill our requirements using what we get either locally or from the US and China, what should we do, sit idle?

As for "rogue regimes", Iran has a "rogue regime", but that doesn't stop the Russians and the Chinese in dealing with them openly. What North Korea does to its people is not worse than what Israel does on its occupied lands, and yet, you deal with them quite comfortably. You're obviously not so concerned about UN resolutions, so, who are you to judge our acquisition?

Buddy - may I request you to read the article properly before posting? This was about PAKISTAN buying North Korean weapons in contravention of UN resolutions. But then you go back to familiar tactics - accuse others of what you do in practice. And this deserves 3 thanks?:undecided:
