According to the latest data released from CPCA (China passenger cars association), Tesla sells 33k China-made cars in July 2021, incl. 24k vehicles for exports and 9k domestic sales in China

But these Chinese OEMs mentioned are also just starting their EV business a few years ago (from 2017 or 18). For example, NIO EC6, its top selling model, was launched in 2020; Xpeng P7, which contributes 80% of Xpeng sales, was launched in 2020; Lixiang One was also launched in 2020.

2020 is NOT a low base year for EV sales in China. According to a report from Mckinsey, the American consultancy giant, the EV sales in China 2020 grows by 22% (vs. 2019).
