I have no qualms about my Hindu ancestors. In all probability, they were descended from converts, bearing no lineage from anywhere outside India. My paternal grandma was quite dark and Indic so to speak. She probably was descended from Shudras or Dalits.

Identities are more fluid now. The supposed race of my ancestors has no bearing on my identity. I am much more inclined to identify as a Muslim than a Hindu culturally. No Stockholm syndrome at play. It's what I grew up with.

Yes, I noticed that. There is Theosophical Society that has remarkably similar views on Aryan racial purity. But this gentleman made the distinction between social Parsis and Aryan supremacists.
Quite different from the affable Mr.Pestonji. I never had negative views about Parsis. Ex-pat Indian Muslims I know would speak highly of the work ethics in Parsi firms such as Tatas and Godrej, where there was no discrimination.
Parsis have usually been in the forefront of secular intellectuals in India, with stalwarts in the legal community like Seervai and Soli Sorabjee. Pakistan had a Parsi chief justice Dorabji Patel.
But this new breed of Aryan bloodline fascism is strange. I wonder if it is spreading to all Parsi communities or this guy is an outlier. His claims of conversion don't make sense. The community has shrunk so much that consanguineous marriages are common.
Anyway I guess there are strange outliers. I do feel sorry for the Parsis. They are talented hardworking, peaceful, and generally as a religious community.they are never in conflict with other religions.
Even Sam Manekshaw was completely secular and ensured Pakistani POWs had full freedom of religious worship.
They need a country of their own some where else they will vanish from the face of the earth.

Why burn bridges? As if Muslims in India aren't secluded enough?

Dalits, Sikhs, Xtians and non savarna minorities are the closest things to allies IMs can have in India. Plus many Dalits are open to Islam because of their bad experience with Hinduism.

I swear, sometimes Muslims are their own worst enemies. Exclusionary, paranoid and unwilling to work with anyone else.

More than substantive, afraid I'm not equipped to counter you point by point. Not a historian or a person who gets into the minutia of things either, I have trouble with those so I prefer to stick to the big picture.

Just explaining to him that there is a certain kind of Muslim we get along very well with.

I suspect in the partition Pakistan got the lion's share of such Muslims.
