Terrorist takes Australian cafe customers hostage:

Now If only some Muslim with a brain tried to communicate with these bast*rds and show them how they're going to hell, might end up saving a few lives.
I know that worked in 1977 when Pakistan's Yaqub-Khan and two other ambassadors lectured Hanafis who killed two and took 150 hostage (including one of my friends) in Washington. Do you think Pakistan's ambassadors can pull off such successes today?

Please evaluate your efforts on the basis of your intentions, and not on the basis of their magnitude. "This", and twitter activism, both are no less. I too am on twitter and have made some big differences too (not that I was expecting anything), despite having barely a dozen dormant followers. You will find it weird that I am taking a leaf out of my religious book here, but you do your work, and fruits will come by in their own time and in their own forms - even when you are not noticing. After you shoot an arrow, do not wait to see where it hits, rather, forget about it and get busy fixing the next arrow. But if you expect to bring a drastic change in a single day, well, that is a bit too far fetched.

Just now I sent a tweet to Tony Abbot requesting him to eliminate Hizb ut Tehrir from Australia. I do not know whether he is even going read it. But I should have done that, so I did. And who knows, some others too may have written something similar, and he may be forced to think over it seriously. My job was to write, I did, and then moved on.

You may not even be aware where your twitter activism may have hit, or how it may have snowballed into greater effects. So do not put your work to a scale, just keep doing it and things will begin to change, after all, labor never goes in vain.

Good work man.

This is good advice to anyone who thinks that they can help.

Religion of Peace (tm)

Peace is good.

The greatest periods of economic development in world history have been in those periods of "peace" that occur in between the endless wars.

Though no doubt war is also a great motivator for technological development, as WW1 and WW2 showed.

Times are not the same... a lot has happened between 1977 and 2014. Such an initiative by the Pakistani ambassador can very easily be misinterpreted by the locals, and even misrepresented by the media. However, if the Pakistani ambassador were to be approached by an Aussie official to undertake such an action, then yes, it could have some positive effects, for both - Australia, as well as Pakistan.

Muslim does not equal Pakistan and Pakistan does not equal Muslim. They are separate entities. Do not drag Pakistan into this.
The Hanafis who attacked D.C. in 1977 had zero connections with Pakistan but that did not stop the Pakistani ambassador from trying to save the lives of Americans.

From the tone of your previous post it felt like you were taunting the Pakistani ambassadors, so I apologize if your post was meant in another way.
I would fully support any attempts by Muslims to resolve this crisis,as long as they are done carefully, with permission from the Australian authorities and with good intentions.

It's funny that it comes few hours after Israeli website publishes this:

Thousands of ticking Jihadi time bombs - Israel News, Ynetnews

..........
No conspiracy theories please, this is not the time - its a serious problem and as of now it is clear that Islam's name is being used. So, as Muslims, it is our duty to condemn the perpetrators for what they appear to be and lets not delve into conspiracy theories like that, they don't help anyone.

Hostage-takers in the Sydney cafe demand to meet with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, local 2GB radio station reported.
http://sputniknews.com/asia/20141215/1015837895.html

A terrorism expert later told local 7News TV channel that though it appeared to bear a testimony of faith in Allah and the prophet Mohammad, it did not belong to the Islamic State (IS). The IS flag bears two different inscriptions, one inside a white circle.

Australian police classified the siege as an "armed incident" in a statement, but did not confirm the rest of the information.

-----------

Meanwhile, BBC is hosting an Aussie Mullah who is asking the Australian authorities to treat the hostage takers as criminals and not terrorists!

What conspiracy theories? Why are you so freakish? No details have been released on motives or incident. We can only speculate. As an American it's not my duty to give two shits about Australia. Let the Australian police and people deal with it. You're the one that is making this about Islam when you don't need to.

How astonishing, they are criminals with potential political agenda, we don't know yet. Why is that so shocking to you?

Sorry if that sounded freakish but it is what it is. That is not the Star of David right there, that is the Islamic Shahada.

Advancing a "potential political agenda" by using a flag with Shahada on it and taking numerous civilians hostages? It is outright terrorism, and has absolutely nothing political about it. May be not Abbot himself, but Australia will face the consequences for going lenient about it.

You must not have seen the size of rallies carried out by Hizb ut Tehrir after the police raids. Authorities went apologetic even for doing the right thing, and this is the result of that. They go lenient now, and it will only get worse. And for you my dear, it will not bring as much harm to Australia or non-Muslims, as it will to all the Muslims around the world. For once, open your eyes and see what is right and what is wrong.

The three ambassadors were our heroes.
